As I recall Two seasons ago Locke was explaining why Hayward was struggling and mentioned that Hayward was a little distracted because he was trying to get through his final exam in a class for Butler. The radio guy said whoa, maybe he should be studying game film or talking with coaches rather than studying Spanish. Locke returned that these young guys can't be expected to focus on basketball all the time.

My response is that the great ones do, and the Jazz have a recent example of the harm done to a franchise by maxing out a player who didn't put his whole energy towards becoming the best.

I really think that Hayward's sharp decline this season is all mental. It's hard for me to believe that a professional athlete suddenly forgets how to do something they've done their whole life like shooting a basketball. He really needs to see a shrink something is wrong with him upstairs.

I really hope so. I expected him to be Manu the long version of the Jazz when I first saw his game.

I heard Gordon on the radio yesterday during an interview. The dude sounds seriously depressed. Spence Checketts asked him how is Brad Stevens handling the losing. He said better than I am, we had dinner and he was a lot more upbeat than I am. Gordon seriously needs to see a sports psychologist who can get him through his season long slump.

His 3 pt percentage this season is identical to his 2nd/last season at Butler. He shot twice as many threes that season than he did his freshman year. His role was expanded and his pct plummeted. Sound familiar?

His TS% has decreased every season in the NBA.

I think we'd all be pretty depressed if we were playing our way out of millions of dollars that were already offered to us. Gordon needs to snap out of it.

It's not just about losing games, the Jazz beat the Celtics the other night, but Hay wired had another bad shooting night. As the game ended Hayward turned dejectedly towards the jazz bench with body language that said "poor me". It took Stevens yelling at him and running him down to get Hay wired to turn around.

It's more than losing that is getting to him.

I'd also be depressed if I were going to marry the love of my life.

Sounds like Godron is terrible at handling adversity. All he needs to do is have a positive 25 game to end the season and those millions will be added back on.

I couldnt imagine focusing on my job ALL the time. even if it was to play basketball.

I wouldnt blame him for distracting himself sometimes. you're already on the road all the time, practicing everyday, games 3-4 times a week, film sessions, run throughs, press conferences, media hounding, basketball appearances, etc. and now when you go home in the free time you do get and you're supposed to do nothing but think about basketball, go to sleep, and start over? I know some guys are wired to do that, but talk about a burnout.

I would love it if my "job" was to simply stay in shape for five months, even if the other seven months I was working my a$$ off. NBA players that can't stay focused on basketball during the season should be looking for other work.

Or ship his *** out of town?

Seriously man, it's time for "kid ballah" to grow up.

We will never win anything with a head case like this. Seriously folks, did we not learn from AK47? It appears not since people around here still want him to be resigned/want him to see some doctor.

At some point we need to cut the cord and realize that we will be better off without these immature, weak minded, lazy players.

The first red flag came when he let JJ Barea and Delonte bully him around. What player allows that? None that I want. No player worth his salt is soft as toilet paper, like Hayward. Softies don't win in this league.
