The logical reason for jefferson logging major minutes?

just went over the box scores after trade deadline.
RJeff is averaging 29mpg.
this while marvin, burks, hayward plays the same position.
so basically rjeff is taking minutes (indirectly) away from burks and especially kanter.

so the reason is not showcasing him for the trade.
now i know i joke about rjeff development.

also note even though he has been avg 29mpg he has been the worse scoring guard.

so what other logical reason could there be for his minutes?
its hard to buy corbin is just plain retarded and short sighted. i just can buy that. he si getting paid well for this job.

The only things I can really thing is that, that starting lineup is like 17-9. He's a good mentor out on the court, spaces it. I think a lot of people would agree that his minutes should be more around 20 at the max.

rj has put together a nice season, and has sure as **** produced much better than i thought he would at the beginning of the year. that being said i'd like to see hayward slide to the 3 and give alec more time. 10 less for rj and 10 more burks.

Yep. Even if they decide to keep Williams in the starting lineup and have Kanter/Jefferson come off the bench, this is exactly what they should be doing. Hayward at the 3. Burks in the starting lineup. Bench of Gobert/Kanter/Jefferson and Garrett really isn't that bad at all.

Because he is a part of lineup that is 19-9.

*Not saying I want him to be starting, but that is the logic behind Corbin's decision. He has a lineup that is winning games so he is sticking with it. Hard to fault him for it from his perspective*

Simple question. If Jefferson wasn't here and Corbin was forced to play Burks in the starting lineup, would they fare better, the same or worse with Favors, Williams, Hayward, Burks and Burke starting together?

I don't see Richard Jefferson as being anywhere close to the reason that lineup has had success. More likely that Burke not bring trash and Favors being healthy are the main two causes.

Corbin doesn't like change so he sticks with what has worked.

He is a fairly important floor spacer. Would the team be just as good w/ Burks starting and Jefferson on the bench? IDK. Probably would IMO, but Corbin obviously doesn't want to take the chance.

floor spacing for who.
there are 4 floor spacers on the floor plus favors.

does favors ened THAT much space?

I know! You see, Greg and Gail really really hate DutchJazzer. So, to make sure they irritated him the most, they decided to trade for Richard Jefferson. And then they told their head coach, Tyrone Corbin, to play him as much as possible in the hopes that DutchJazzer would notice and possibly lose all sanity. Gail and Greg calculated correctly, and DutchJazzer is now considered to be legally insane in 78 countries. Congratulations!

Exactly right. Which is a damn shame because this is the perfect year to get outside that little box and see if something else works better. He can't do that. Simply not capable of it. As such, I hope the new coach they bring in this offseason (crossing fingers and toes) has more guts, brains and creativity than Ty Corbin does.

The Jazz players and fans all deserve a helluva lot better than what they're getting right now.

Sometimes I wonder if the jazz are doing some sort of nba penance. Like maybe they are being punished for stealing Boozer from Cleveland all those years ago. So the league, or the other owners tells them this guy is going to be on your team and he will play 24 mpg.

Or maybe the other owners didn't like that Greg inherited a team with zero rent payments and no investment money, so the group of new owners told him it was Jazz's turn to suck for a couple of seasons, if Greg did they would take care of him $$$$.

Part of me feels like Greg Miller ordered us not to tank cuz Joseph Smith told him in a dream he would get Jabari as long as he finished outside the playoffs. Greg Miller feels like it's Mormon destiny.

Kanter should start. Rudy should back them up. I can't see any other logical line up for the Jazz. What the **** are they gonna do with this line up's wins? Add the to the franchise record to view them on nba.com?

I dont know if the team would be better or worse with burks starting either
however...... Burke is a floor spacer, gordon is said to be a floor spacer, marvin is a floor spacer, jefferson is a floor spacer.
Who are they spacing the floor for? The offensive juggernaut known as favors? Seems to me that burks would fit in with a bunch of floor spacers giving him open lanes to the hoop.

There is a little bit of a minutes discrepancy but the exact same Lineup plays better with Alec in it. And it's not like 100 minutes of action is not enough of evidence. Offensively they are nearly the same but on the defensive end the lineup is better with Alec instead of RJ. But who cares at this point?

Couldn't agree more. and to your question would we be just as good with Burks, sadly I thought that was what this season was about. To find out exactly what we had, and try a lot of different roles.
The "worst" case would be that we end up in the top 4 of the lottery. It WAS a win win for me, but now it's just a black hole of pain.

1. We need to showcase RJ for his next contract
2. He's a vet
3. He has photos of Ty
4. When he shoots a three, he bails Ty out from having to have an effective offense
5. He's great on the post game interviews
6. We won once with him in the starting lineup so Ty will never take him out
7. He said Ty is doing a good job without laughing
8. He likes to popcorn rookies car when they don't bring doughnuts
9. He wants to play for an NBA championship caliber team not spelled JAZZ
10. He's from NBA Arizona University.
