Netflix recs?

I made a list of movies that looked interesting to me the other day from the "top 100" "top 10" best Netflix movies to watch lists on Google and then when I settled down for a night of movies....none of them were on there. The Departed? Nope. Elysium? Nope. Grizzly Man? Nope. I had like 12 or 13 listed. I ended up watching Man on Wire....which was alright.

But obviously I'm missing something. It can't possibly be a 25 Billion $$$ company and have the selection of your local Pawnshop's DVD section, can it?

What should I be watching Jazzfanz?

I had the same problem and thats why i cancelled it

Netflix is way better for TV shows than for movies. Although in general, if you expect them to have everything you're bound to be disappointed. I just take the attitude that there's a ton of stuff on there, more than I could ever hope to watch.

Anyway, without knowing what you like it's hard to make recommendations. But some of my favorite TV shows to watch are: West Wing (one of my three favorite shows ever), Family Guy, Archer, Star Trek TNG and DS9 (I think they have all the Star Treks), Battlestar Galactica, 24, Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Scrubs, Sherlock, Luther, House of Cards (both British and American versions), Weeds, Firefly, Dexter, Orange is the New Black. The list goes on.

Trailer Park Boys, both movies.

Do yourself a favor and watch the entire sitcom series on youtube first (I watched damn near every one at work ;) ). Channel TrailerParkVault

If it wasn't Canadian then it'd be considered one of the top sitcoms of all time. The low population base was the only thing holding it back.

Netflix has some great documentaries. I usually watch one a week..

Cropsey
Shut Up Little Man
Dirty Wars

TV show good? I've only watched the movies.

One thing I hate about Netflix is that they made browsing movies a lot more difficult recently. I remember it being way easier to find good movies.

They did change the layout. It's certainly a lot prettier, but in order to give you big and pretty pictures and boxart shots of movies and shows, they've left a lot less real estate for seeing a lot of different options at once. I used to be able to see about three rows of stuff, about ten items long each. Now it's like two rows of five.

Eh. I got used to it.

Arrested development, if you haven't seen the series yet.

Sent from the JazzFanz app

Yeah, it doesn't have a lot of famous movies, but there are lots of good independent ones. I just go through the list of movies and watch anything that has over a 75% on Rotten Tomatoes. There are tons (no way I'll ever watch all of them), but you gotta be cool with a lot of movies that aren't popular.

Holy crap, just went to watch King of The Hill on Netflix.

IT'S ****ING GONE!!! WTF!!!

Yeah, they lose stuff all the time. Presumably some shows just get too expensive for them after a certain point. They don't have South Park anymore either, and lots of others I could name. It's the nature of the beast. It sure can be annoying when great stuff goes away, but given the price differential between Netflix and Cable, it still ain't a contest for me. I'm a poor college student, I take what they give me for eight bucks a month, and what they give is still pretty good.

Having South Park is worthless, surely you know the SP website?

It was just way easier to watch SP on my tv with Netflix than it is to hook up my laptop to the tv and watch it on their site. I'm too lazy for that.
