What's new

Game Thread: 3/31/14 - New York Knicks @ LOLville Spazz 7 pm (local)

So, let's see. The Knicks call a time out with 2.8 (or so) seconds left on the clock prior to the Jazz shooting a second free throw to plan for a last shot. The shot goes in, NY then throws long pass to a streaking JR Smith who gets of a contested shot in the corner, which he makes.

I wonder, what the hell did Corbin tell the team to expect after the free throw? Wasn't a long pass one of the more likely outcomes? So then why weren't the Jazz defending for this likelihood after the free throw? Smith got completely behind the sole defender to get the pass. While this play didn't determine the outcome, I see it as a clear coaching faux paux on Corbin's part. Another data point that convinces me that Corbin (as much as I think he's a great guy) is simply not a good coach. He needs to go. I don't see any improvement now at the end of the year. We are worse than we were mid-season. I just cannot see how the FO can renew his contract if it is serious about winning, and wants to communicate this to the fan base. It's time for the Corbin era to end, the sooner the better.

Dude....nobody's watching.

Except me - and you're right! The funny part is the guy who shot the FT (Hayward) is the one who had to run all the way down the court to defend the shot.

LOL - where the **** was the rest of the team?? Crashing the boards on a 80+% FT shooter?

15 years ago this would have been viewed as an unforgiveable meltdown and talked about ad nauseum on this board.

Today it's commonplace and barely noticed.

being around corbin maks you stoopid, look at harpring i used to like his insight.
nowadays he is spouting stopi like corbin propaganda.
and anti kanter propaganda.

Harpring pro-Corbin propaganda and anti-Kanter propaganda is evident in every of his broadcasting! Always bitching about Kanter defense....we all know that he is a major liability on defense but once in a while he can admit that Kanter defense has improved a bit lately!

I'm sure Harpring is in favor of starting Marvin instead of Kanter. Yesterday he said a couple of times that Marvin plays better when he is in the starting lineup. If Harpring cares about the Jazz, he should know very well that it is better Marvin comes off the bench. He has to accept this role if he wants to re-sign with the Jazz!

Another thing I don't like is that he always praises RJ season....ok he had a solid season but let's not exaggerate!
Last year he was often out of the rotation with the Golden State....it is unacceptable that this year he is averaging almost 30 mpg!

I noticed that too, end of first half. I thought that Hayward, the JR defender, looked frustrated after that, maybe disgusted with the coaches
