You could make the arguement that an elite defender with better than average offense (george) is preferable to an elite offensive player with below average defense (harden) for sure. Thats a pretty valid arguement/opinion.

Like i said, i dont think you are wrong for thinking george is superior..... i just would rather have harden

Not sure.
Never seen them playing against one another or against similar competition.

Most likely i would take russell though.
Just my personal preference

I apoligize for preffering harden to george. I hope you can forgive me.

At least i came around to liking aaron gordon though so hopefully that makes you feel better
 
I just take the player that makes the team better. Whether he's better at offense or defense is irrelevant. It's more about the overall net contribution to the team. The way I see the Harden v George thing is, if George were to take Harden's place on the Rockets, I would guess: Net gain on defense < Net loss on offense, therefore, replacing George with Harden would make them worse at the present. Wouldn't be a bad move for the future though.

On the other hand: If you swap Westbrook against George, both teams would prolly profit from that move.

Jabari Parker averaged 1.2 BPG and 1.1 SPG. By your logic, he must be a good defender.

/I'm not saying Favors is a bad defender. I'm saying that quantifying his defensive play by using blocks and steals is stupid.
 
So if you have to break up the players into tiers what do they look like?

Exum
Gordon
