You'd obviously have to let Hayward walk in free agency or something, then sign some guys for more than they're worth on 1 year deals.

I don't think it happens, though.

We'll most likely get someone good or GREAT in the draft, a new coach, re-sign Hayward, add a few decent guys in free agency and aim for the playoffs, but fall a little bit short in the end.
 
Zero percent chance Joel wont come out. If his back gives him issues going further it's going to cost him Millions. Parker will most likely come out. Duke won't be much better than they were this year. He wont get a NCAA title there.

Winning a title is so difficult in the NCAA due to single elimination. If that's the main reason he goes back, he's beyond retarded.
 
I think if we land the number one pick and all the players are in the draft I could see the Jazz trying to do what I suggested and try to get Philly's #11 pick via NOLA. Then I could see them trying to get back into the top five or 6 if they really like a player and offering #11, #23, Kanter, and Burke if they think that Exum or someone like that is a stud. In my book if all of the top 5 guys are projected to be all stars one day I would even trade Favors or Burks if that was what was needed.

The team that I could see going for a deal under the right circumstances is Milwakee. They put together a veteran team this year because they wanted to be a 6-8 seed in the playoffs. If they want a PG at #4 or a PF they might be choosing between Randle and Exum but if they worry Randle is too small or they wonder if Exum is a true PG... they might like a combo of Burke/Kanter & #11. (Of course under my scenario we have already drafted Embiid). It may also be that Exum is gone and they may be choosing between Parker/Randle... I still think that combo gives them a lot. A PG of the future, a PF with touch to pair with a defensive minded center in Sanders and whoever they pick at #11...

Imagine:

Embiid and Exum/Parker or Randle.

I would love it if we ended up with 2 of the top 6 players in this draft. A team like Milwakee might just be interested in something like that. I would even take on the two years of Mayo's contract to do something like this if we could get Exum or Parker at #4.
 
Just to follow up:

Why would Milwakee do this? There is no bet that Parker or Exum are going to pan out. They could be the next Wesly Johnson or Evan Turner. With my package of say: Kanter/Burke and #11 we could probably get it done. If we didn't get #11, it might have to be #23, taking on Mayo, and Kanter/Burke. This way Milwakee guarantee's themselves a starting PG who is a leader and could blossom in the east. They guarantee themselves a future 18/10 PF in Kanter with the defensive minded Center in Sanders to run out next to him. They also get either the number #11 say Rodney Hood or McDermott or whoever they like. They may even do this for Burke/Kanter and taking on Mayo.

I know some people love Burke but if it is Exum we are getting we are covered. If it is Parker then we sign a veteran PG like Livingston. The point is, Burke believe it or not will be considered a bust or a bottom 5 PG in the league next year if he doesn't dramatically increase his production. He is far from sure bet to be our PG of the future.

I think flipping him at the draft to move up is a sale high situation. I just see Milwakee as a prime target to rid themselves of their mistakes and add to their depth and youth.

In Russia we have new drug Krokodil that make you think this thing is possible.
 
Not worried about Parker or Embiid not declaring. Next year will feature three bigs (Okafor, Turner, Alexander) who are all potential #1 picks with arguably higher ceilings than anybody this year.
