Anybody watch this show?

I just started the first season last night, and I'm really enjoying it.

The guy playing Hannibal is a very good actor. So is Will Graham.

Hannibal with fava beans a nice chianti, or Hannibal with elephants and alps?

I would have watched if Utah didn't block it out and I knew about it.

Wife and I just started watching season one as well. Pretty interesting. I read somewhere that they will lead up to the books later on. If I remember correctly, season 4 will be Red Dragon, season 5 will be Silence of the Lambs, season 6 will be Hannibal and season 7 will wrap it all up.

Maybe. It is a very good show, although it does actually make me feel gross on occasion. (Not easily done, mind you) I think it is too over the top with its gore and gruesome things, which turns a ton of wouldbe viewers off. I would bet money it won't last seven seasons; maybe one more after this.

problem is it is not on cable tv.
on cable it would survive 7 easy

So after this thread, I decided to check this out on amazon prime. I am most of the way through the first season, and I can honestly say it is the darkest show I have ever seen on TV, and in many ways darker than any movie I have seen. The episodes take on a "freak of the week" kind of format, which can get old fast, but they keep it new by intermixing Hannibal's involvement, and the underlying story of Will Graham's burgeoning insanity and Hannibal's clandestine behind the scenes moves make it very interesting. And trout is right, it does kind of make you feel like you need a shower, but no way in hell am I getting in the shower alone after an episode or 3. The icing on the cake are Hannibal's dinner parties.

"Hannibal, this is wonderful, what am I eating?"
"It is tongue of lamb."
"I like it. Kind of chewy."
"This was a particularly talkative lamb."

Cut to a scene of some guy begging for his life for 3 seconds, back to the guests nearly orgasmically enjoying the meal. The sadomasochistic undertones are just crazy.

(also by dark I mean like 80% of the show happens at night, or in rooms and office buildings where people refuse to flip on the ****ing light switch. I get you want the tone to be, you know, dark, but good hell, I work partly in an office environment and no one tries to write a letter or type on their computer under a 20 watt bulb in an antique lamp with all the shutters closed and no other light entering the room. that is a bit much.)

It gets better and better each week.

***spoiler***

The introduction of Mason Verger and Margot is AWESOME to fans of the books, and I also think I figured out something else -- probably late to the party, I'm sure -- but I think Will is Buffalo Bill...

Will is the same character from Red Dragon.

I just watched the episode with the crazy chick who was trying to remove people's masks and cutting off their faces to do so. Sick.

I finished season 1. Not sure if I like where it went that season, but it was interesting. Now I have to wait for Amazon Prime to offer the second season for free to Prime members. Irritating.

Well, I'm not sure WTF is going on, tbh. I did not expect what happened to happen.

Seriously, wtf.

Not sure what you are talking about but I have watched 9 episodes or so of season 2, and I am not sure what they are doing either. Seems like they moved onto Hannibal pretty fast, and I really did not like that they killed off Chilton so quickly. He did not die like that in the other story lines, and his death in the movies was way more satisfying to the story line than getting shot in the head by the crazy girl.
