I am with you Yamers take the safe pick, get a guy who has played 4 years in college and we know will be a journeyman in the NBA. No risk route, right!

There are some tough decisions to make if the Jazz have the #1 or #2 pick. Do they dare not take Parker? If they have the #3 pick and Parker is still available, the choice is easy. I guess a lot will depend on if Embiid's back gets a medical pass.

Controversial top 3

Jazz top 3:
Parker
Wiggins
Gordon

DL's hypothesized mancrush on Gordon:

Gives Jazz Versatility (with Hayward at 2-3 and Gordon at 3-4)
Team Defense and Energy that could be contagious (Imagine defensive athleticism with Favors-Gordon on floor together)
Athleticism
Attitude/ team player/ leadership
BB IQ, especially for age
FTs will be corrected. (Remember that guy who had <50% his first season, that malone guy))
 
Another benefit

Added benefit if Gordon is a top 3 and Jazz get a 3-4 pick, they could trade down if someone with picks 5-9 have a crush on Embiid/ Exum, and pick up other assets in the trade, due to the perception that the draft is stronger at the top than it really is (could pick up a future first rounder or a solid current player).

I think 3-9 are going to be very fluid and unpredictable, similar to the top of last year's draft. There will be a "consensus" that will be pretty wrong.
 
I hope Jazz draft board looks like this:

Parker
Embiid
Wiggins
Gordon
Smart
Randle
and for that 1% chance or whatever I would not mind Stauskas here.
