What's new

missing next pick for 20 years.

Both Thompson have been way ore productive then Kanter who has been a huge bust just like I TOLD ALL OF YOU HE WOULD BE. IM ALWAYS RIGHT LIKE I SAID ABOUT KOUFUS TOO AND IT TOOK YALL YEARS TO SEE

Dat koof doe. Wasn't he like an all star this year? What did he have, like a 20 and 10 season? Oh wait, he can't even get a starting job. Because he sucks at basketball.

what ever you say, i prefer the next pick player.

Gordon Hayward next pick Paul George
Erick Maynor next pick Darren Collison
Kosta Kufos next pick Serge Ibaka
Ante Tomic next pick Goran Dragic
Morris Almond next picks Aaron Brooks, Aaron Affalo
Deron Williams next pick Chris Paul
Kirk Snyder next pick Josh Smith
Kris Humpries next pick Al Jefferson
Raul Lopez next Gerald Green (Tony Parker Auuuuh)

Have luck this year' draft.
Gerald Green? What?

Walt Perrin is in charge of the draft for the Jazz and he has been for years. Does anyone know how long he has been in charge of the draft? I'm not sure why, but I have more faith in DL's drafting ability than KOC.

You need an asterisk following Raul Lopez.

Could it be that Tristan just looks better from a stats standpoint because he's had a coach that has actually played him?

My keyboard sucks so sorry people. Geez you would think you would know what I was talking about. Kanter is just a bust plain and simple. He dominated ball when he was in the high school age simply because he was bigger and stronger then most players. This is not true in the nba. You all will eventually see him for being the average layer he is.

The coach argument is so lame. The coach gets to see the players everyday in practice. If kanter had earned a spot to start in practice why wouldn't Corbin have started him? I love this board since its very active but some Jazz fans refuse to look at thing from neutral glasses. To yall's favor though all fan bases do this.

No. Kanter has a higher ceiling.

I would love to hear why? Based on this season head to head matchups it looks like JV surpassed Kanter ( I will remind you that Corbin needed to take Kanter out of the game in Utah and put Gobbert on JV as JV was scoring on Kanter at will ). Kanter still may have nicer footwork in the post but JV has edge in defense and rebounding now. Better FG better FT as well. And size advantage. So where is that higher ceiling? That Kanter one day will start raining 3s?

Jv is taller so his ceilings have to be higher in the house or he would not fit. It's science.

I still like Kanter over Valanciunas. Valanciunas' game is limited, although he plays more like a true center.

How is it limited? That he does not shot 3s? He killed Kanter in Utah, Corbin even pulled him out as he could not stopped "limited" Valanciunas.

I don't think head-to-head is the ONLY measuring stick. DWill used to KILL CP3 in their matchups. But you'd have to rank them at least equals at that point in their careers (although injuries have now slid Deron down the list). For the season, JV averaged 11.3 pts and 8.8 rbds in 28 mins/per. Kanter averaged 12.3/7.5 in 27 mins/per. Blocks, assists and steals are insignificant by both.

I'd call that pretty much a draw.

Kanter had some bad Luck in his career. Starting from the Problems with Kentucky, drafted by the Jazz who has already 2 borderlina All-Stars and Derrick Favors at the BIG-MAN Position and ended with his shoulder injury right before he got finally the opportunity to shine...
Kanter atleast was an elite rebounding player, after the surgery and his first 20-30 games he rebounded like a shooting guard. He got stronger and better game after game. He finished the saison strong with 15 points, 13 rebounds in the month of April.

Next year Kanter already will be a dominant BIG-MAN in this league, their is no doubt around it.

So we draft, then turn around and trade the rights to that player to the team immediately below us.

But a bit selective:
Trey Burke - CJ McCollum
Rudy Gobert - Livio Jean-Charles
Enes Kanter - Tristan Thompson (Still prefer Enes)
Alec Burks - Markieff Morris
Jeremy Evans - Hamady N'Diaye
Goran Suton - Jack McClinton (just kidding)
Fesenko-Barac (at least Kyrylo gave us some comedic relief)
Ronnie Brewer - Cedric Simmons
*Paul Millsap - Vladimir Veremeenko
C.J. Miles - Ricky Sanchez

*Perhaps one of the best value picks ever.

yeah, there is a coin flip.
We've got 2nd round success
Millsap, Mo-Will, Anderson, Evans,Eisley etc.
but the 1st round trend looks like we drafted more speculated, like the idea of DL we will draft best possible player.

How about FG and FT? Defense? Usage rate?
Check 82games.com for some more information. Kanter is ranked second last in all NBA in Roland rating which is very much based on your own production vs your direct opponents production. Reason Kanter is so low was because he could not stop anybody. He was outproduced by 6.3 pts on average.

And what is the reason for Favors to have 22.1 opponents production (Kanter has 23) ? Is this because they both can not defend anyone, or is this mainly because the Utah Jazz have the worst TEAM-DEFENSE in the NBA ?

Could that also be because Kanter plays on a unit that has only himself and Burks as decent players? Jazz were collectively the worst defensive team in the NBA. Sure, a part of that is Kanter; but it's also the team and the defensive scheme. I guarantee you AL Jefferson did not just wake up during the summer and become a great defender. But he is now on a team where defensive is played by all team members; where the coach emphasized defense, put in a scheme and is making players be accountable.
