rockets- Harden prime example why I'm worried about Parker.

When a reporter from a national organization asked him about his struggles, he got short. “It’s basketball – making shots,” Harden said before moving onto the next question. But when his media session in the Rockets opulent locker room ended, Harden went back at the reporter, asking if he had ever seen a player not play well before. The reporter answered that the struggle seemed unusual for Harden and was coming on a major stage, the playoffs.

The two went back and forth for a while, with Harden asking the reporter if he’d ever seen a basketball game before, then demanding to know whom the reporter was. The exchange got testy enough that team officials stepped in to usher Harden out.

As he left the room, Harden called the reporter “weirdo.”

LOL

If harden has his normal offense on the two games so far, the rockets would be up 2-0.

imo his defense has not been the problem..... its been his horrible offense that has been the problem.

Dont think harden has been guarding aldridge much so far this series.

What is Harden's normal offense?

He has sucked in the playoffs. 9 of his last 13 playoff games he has shot below 38% from the field. If the refs aren't rewarding head jerk flops, he isn't that great.

I don't think we can fully judge these players by what we saw in college. Parker is still young and I'm sure he'll get better. I heard somewhere that when Durant was going into the draft most people questioned if he had a killer instinct. I've heard that players sometimes don't get enough motivation when playing inferior talent. I think it's entirely possible for both Wiggins and Parker.

Ettore Messina says that anyone can play defense because defense is a team concept. All a player needs to do is keep his opponent in front of him for one or two dribbles to allow for the team to recognize and adjust.

Since I am now firmly seated on the Messina bandwagon it must be true.

I was not quite through the door, but I've now deposited my coins and have taken a seat. Amazing to hear a coach say he practices basic fundamentals AGAIN and AGAIN. This is EXACTLY what the young Jazz team needs!

We want Messina! Git 'er done, Dennis.

I think the number 1 reason the rockets are down 2-0 is aldridge straight killin it and being the best player in the playoffs so far.

#2 reason is hardens poor shooting/scoring.

#3 reason is the hack a howard being so effective when the rockets were up 11 with 4 minutes to go in game 1.

#4 parsons has not shown up.

#5 maybe hardens defense would go here.

Last night i did see matthews post up harden like 4 times and get zero pts.

Now i agree that he is a bad defender and of course it would be great if he played great defense but im pretty sure that before this season started (and probably even now) all of us would trade any jazz player or combo of jazz players for harden in a heartbeat.

I will not be upset if we draft jabari and he turns out to be as good as harden..... there are lots worse things that could happen to the jazz imo

he feasts on lazy regular season games. but so far in his brief playoff career, he's been choking major time. things are little tougher in the playoffs especially when you don't have post up game.
