I don't see that happening. Love isn't going to want to stay in Utah.
But the Jazz did interview McDermott at the combine. I wonder if there have been some discussions about moving down with some team in return for an additional asset. McDermott will be an elite 6th man. Jazz would then need to find a starting SF on the trade market. Realistically, any PF drafted competes with Kanter and someone gets traded by next season. Same with PG; Burke would need to go. And we already have 2 quality SG's.
 
I agree with OP, I'm not sold on this draft class either. I think Aaron Gordan could be a nice defensive piece, but not the savior we've all been looking for. Marcus Smart has the alpha dog mentality, but can't shoot the three, and Noah Vonleh has a basketball IQ of next to nothing. Randle is just another Millsap and saying he can play the 3, I'm just not seeing it.

Exum is a great big question mark? However, I would be willing to take a gamble on him if he was available at 5. Other wise I say we trade down and take a player like McDermott. High IQ, best shooter in the draft, could spread the floor and he has a nose for the ball. He certainly is no Adam Morrison.

As much as we need defense, I think that the problem was the coach and not the pieces we have in place. I'm more excited about the prospect of getting new coach and seeing the difference that will make than any player in this draft. If we can find the next Kawhi Leonard, great. I still have high hopes for the players we currently have on the roster. Few if any players in this draft are going to have a huge immediate impact on this team.
 
That Jody Jennesy guy is reporting that Lindsey will look at trading the 5th, 23rd and/or the 35th picks to love up.

Kanter is elite athlete compared to McDermott. Do we really need another tall dude who can't jump or defend?

Mcdermott had a 36.5 inch vertical at the combine.

I think someone spotted him 10 inches though.
