What's new

NewsFlash!

Thought you were making a case that if Lindsey gets the chance to upgrade Burke, he will.

I'm saying Lindsey won't. Even if he gets the chance.

For every Smart or Exum the Jazz would draft, there is one less draft pick to take Vonleh, Gordon or Randle with. Resources are limited and Lindsey won't give up on Trey after just one year. A promising enough year at that.

Any gm would be more inclined to upgrade Burke 12 months from now if need be.

When you are as bad as the Jazz where this year you dont have the luxury of drafting of need or position. You must draft the best player available no matter what your strengths or weaknesses are on the team.

If the Jazz skip drafting a better player to take someone who fills a need we are going to be in the lottery a lot more often.

Draft the best player let them play together or fight it out and trade one down the road. Unless a team offers something great for trey the Jazz will probably keep him but that does not mean if you think exum or smart is the bpa you dont take them.

1 don't know. Trey shot a higher 3P% and a higher FT% than Hayward did this year, and he never went 1-17.

Hayward = Vanilla Ice!

At least we can see it was a real outlier for Gordon, as his career avgs. are 44%/37%. And c'mon, is FT% really all that important a stat for a guy who shoots 1.5 per game?

How could anyone say that Exum is bpa at 5? He is too much a mystery man to say that.

Gordon is bpa over Smart. They have some of the same intangibles and also neither of them can shoot. Gordon is bpa over Smart due to his elite athleticism and size for his position.

BPA is a weak argument to replacing Burke imo, because Gordon is that over both of them.

So Burke and Hayward both suck? Any others?

Actually no, I said Hayward's season was an outlier. I'm completely in favor of re-signing him based on his previous years. In fact, in his ROOKIE year, he had the best 3-PT shooting percentage AFTER the all-star break, so not all rookies struggle for the entire season.

He needs to go back to being a shooter. I also like the fact he's 6'8" and can play SG. That creates mismatches that a decent coach should be able to exploit.

And you got all salty that I've been telling the truth about your son. He shot 38%/33%. That's just turrible.

Neg me and I'll neg you back.
Rep me and I'll rep you back.

Quid pro quo. Carpe diem.
