The more Bill talks on TV the more he starts sounding like Chad Ford. Stick to writing Bill. Sorry but just because a player is Mormon doesn't mean the Jazz are going to go after him. Look at Jimmer, the Jazz had a better chance of moving up for Jimmer who at the time was more popular than Parker has ever been.
It is virtually impossible to get the second or third pick in this draft. There is no way that I would give Burks + #5 + #23 and then he wants us to throw in another 1st rounder. I know everyone is comparing Parker to Pierce and they're alike in some ways but Pierce is a SF straight up while Parker you don't know what position he can play. Pierce' s defense when he was younger was very good. He could even guard some SG.
The biggest concerns, I have with Parker is, Can he guard anyone and what position can he play? In this way he is more like Jimmer, a tweener.
There is no hope for any franchise if they start taking guys for marketing purposes instead of basketball talent. Besides the fact, there are many Jazz fans who either don't care about Parker's religion or would be alienated if they promoted it in a sports venue. The little I know of Parker is that he wants to be know has a basketball player and not a Mormon basketball player, his faith seems to be very important to him but he doesn't go around publicly broadcasting it. He seems to be a person who wants to show how good of a person he is and let everyone worry about what impact that this has on you and your perception of his religion. I could be wrong since I don't know him but I've followed him and he doesn't seem like he is an in your face type of Mormon.
I have complete faith that DL is smarter than just selecting a guy because he would help to sell a few more tickets and jersey but I am not against it if they really believe he is the best player. However, I don't think the difference between any player is worth that Simmon's crazy deal. That deal is for a player like Lebron, MJ or Magic, Bird etc...
Would fans be wanting him so badly?

The honest answer is that Parker being Mormon has Zero impact on any decision to go after Parker. DL won't keep his job by making the casual Mormon fan happy. Any honeymoon DL and Parker get from the same crowd who cheered for Jimmer to hit the winning shot against the Jazz will be short-lived if it doesn't produce wins. Will Jazz fans be any less enthusiastic about a deep playoff run if it's being led by a bunch of non-Mormons? I don't think so. This whole Parker/Mormon narrative is so f'n asinine.
yea a guy who could get his team out of the first round of the NCAA. So if he scores 23 pts a game. how many does he give up?

You do not trade unprotected 1st rounders. They can come back and bite you. The Clippers did it and the pick ended up being Kyrie Irving. Jazz did it years ago and the pick turned out to be Magic Johnson.
I think people should hold tight because Parker could fall. He was rated as low as #7 in some preseason mocks. Trades could change the whole thing or Parker could be sitting there at #5.
Or it could just be some scrub and we have Jabari Parker.
Common sense isn't included when emotions are involved that is why religion shouldn't be part of business decisions because it is too personal and people lose their objectivity. Look how people where going crazy over Tebow, common sense told most people that he isn't an NFL quarterback and probably never will be but the Christian crowd went nuts over the guy because they identify with him, nothing wrong with that, however sometimes it messes up your ability to make good decisions.
