Aaron Gordon vs. Marcus Smart

With this draft day scenario, who would you want the Jazz to take?

Are we discussing the first three draft picks of Wiggins, Embiid, or Parker? The OP is about Aaron Gordon vs. Marcus Smart. Aaron Gordon's only short coming is shooting and the list off short comings stacked against Marcus Smart is not someone you use a 5th overall pick on, that's all I am saying. Of course I would much rather have one of those top 3 picks but that's a little unrealistic because it will take too much to move up in this draft.

I have nothing against any of the potential #5 picks (well I have something against all of them but think they are all good prospects), but I have no idea why Smart isn't someone a 5th pick can be used on. He might be one of the most complete players in the draft at the guard position.

It has to do with his size (tweener), and the fact that he is not a good shooter but plays a position where shooting is an important skill..... he is not known for his passing and might be a point guard.... combine all of that with the fact that we already have good young players at his position.

Alot to like about smart but plenty of reasons to pass on him too.

I totally see Aaron Gordon being this tweener, freak athlete, that isn't a great shooter, but having an insane work ethic and out hustles everyone on the court developing in the small forward version of Russell Westbrook. Westbrook dropped in his draft because no one really knew what position he played and if he could ever shoot, and it could be argued he is the top 2 or 3 players in the 2008 draft and he was insane athletically.

Westbrook shot up draft boards and got taken earlier than anybody predicted.

Smart's workout in LA and interview. Best part at 1:00 where he shows indifference about being a Laker.

Post link please? (I really want to watch it)

You can tell he was watching D. Wade growing up. Some movements are spot on copy. But I do not like his slow release on jumper. Otherwise looks like solid prospect. Certainly better than ****.
