Did you read about the train China wants to build that comes to America? They want to go up along Russsia, under the sea, then down thru Alaska and Canada to connect to the west coast of America.

rather they donate the money to some project in afrika to get Agriculture going. there must be ways to grow **** in the desert

The Cog train up Pikes Peak is the best little side trip I've ever taken. We got some spectacular views of the plains, could see the "curvature of the earth" over Kansas on the horizon, and then we went into the clouds and got snowed on.
This is what private engineering can do if the government can just be made to get out of the way.
