What's new

***Official new head coach search thread*** (merged)

The Missouri fans hated Quinn Snyder with a passion. I saw a game on ESPN where some fan dumped popcorn on his head. He is certainly a smart dude, but I've heard lots of rumors about the guy. He has awesome hair and would be a good interview. He's paid his dues and has been on a lot of staffs. I'm excited about the possibility of getting a MBA guy who would dig into analytics. At least he's not Boylen.

Your post seems to be contradictory. Fans had problems with him, you've heard rumors, yet you think he would still be a good hire?

I'm on the fence on whether or not he would be a good hire. He has some good attributes, but man, there are some pretty strong rumors about the guy. Google "Quin Snyder black eye" or "Quin Snyder cocaine". Whomever we hire, they have got to win the press conference and have the confidence of fans. I'm not sure if Boylen or Snyder could pull that off initially.

Popovich > Assistant (Boylen)

Popovich > Assistant (Budenholzer)

Budenholzer > Assistant (Snyder)

Therefore:

Boylen > Snyder

QED.

Uh... that actually doesn't flow, mostly because there's no clarification on the relationship between Boylen and Budenholzer, unless you're implying that since they've both been assistants to Popovich that they're equal (but again that's not spelled out in the above).

If Spurs win it all this year:

Boylen > Budenholzer

Meaning: Boylen > Snyder

All else being equal the Spurs major changes this year were the assistant coaches.

And you realize the Spurs were in the finals last year, coming within seconds of a title in game 6, right? So if they achieve less than that, is it safe to say that, since Biylen was their biggest change, he had a negative impact on the team? Does it go both ways or only the one?
