pretty sure, eh?

This one word was the only funny part of your and Dalas little love fight.

Probably because the voice of the moose in Brother Bear said it in my head.

Now that you've chimed in about the quality of comedy, I'm gonna have to re-assess. Everything.

Wait, there was comedy?

For the record Dala wasn't funny either. You can both deliver better imo. But "eh" really did make me chuckle.

that game-winner against Orlando tho.
'Cause that was so great?*

Wow. He gave us the 5th pick in a 4 person draft. Thanks Trey!

Horrible argument. Why not single out any other wins? Of because that wouldn't fit your story.

For someone who defends knater so fiercely it is weird to see you make the same kind of attacks on Trey that you defend Kanter from.

First of all, I'm not singling Trey out.
But...
Trey played AAU, has been coached, played two years of college, got starter minutes his first year in the league, is undersized and undr-athletic, and was the 9th pick in one of the worst drafts ever for a reason.their pasts are very different. Trey is only 6 months younger than Kanter. They have never been the same caliber of a prospect. Not even close.

Anyways, it was a simple response to a comment from Dalamon. Trey hit a buzzer beater... But he shot 38% for the year. It was also against Orlando, down the tank stretch when everyone told him what was on the line. I don't see that as being for the team. I see that as being for his highlight reel. Having said that, I never want a player ina Jazz uni to tank. Ever. But, I'm not so sure the shot is as great as some on here try to make it out to be.

Kanter and Burke were both nice players in horrible drafts. Neither goes top 15 this year. They were in the right place at the right time.

The argument I've seen from you in the past is, "why don't we get rid of Gordon and acquire other cheaper options that as a whole fulfill his skillset?"
You've never seen that argument from me because I've never made it.

What I've said is that when you have players you can actually run an offense through, the extras Gordo gives you are not worth the premium you have to pay for them. You're better off with true spot-up shooters/off-ball scorers and perimeter defenders. Good teams have a few elite talents and specialists for a reason.

Also, Gordo's lateral quickness is not a strength.

Why? Because it was against a team not named Miami or San Antonio? It was a fantastic shot. Buzzer beating winner under pressure.

Burke was a rookie not a 3rd year vet like Kanter. Learning the flow of the game and adjusting to the NBA speed which Kanter has already done. Burke should get every bit as much leeway for being "new" as Kanter.

I'm sorry for atributing that argument to you then.

How is his lateral quickness not a strength? It is essential to keeping your man in front of you on the perimeter.

I will admit that I am harder on Trey than the others, but it's because I see his game as being a detriment to our roster, not a positive. Trey was drafted as a "safe pick," and not a "potential pick." I felt like his pace would be too slow, he'd be undersized, he didn't have the athleticism to overcome his body, is unable to attack the rim and draw fouls, and has a me first attitude to the PG position.

On the plus side, he is good in the PnR and has a very low TOV rate.

I am firm believer that this team needs to get out and run, and that defense starts with the PG. Trey hasn't shown the ability to offer either of these qualities. I would rather have him able to attack the rim and draw fouls than be able to shoot big shots (especially when the rest of his shooting is at a subpar %). The big shot might decide a close game, but it is the other things that make the game close i. The first place.

Also, as the PG, everyone is dependent on him for their success.

Maybe he'll make the big jump he made in college from year one to year two, but for a prospect like Trey, it isn't something you can count on. Trey has played a lot more basketball than Kanter, being coached the whole way, and his upside and window for improvement is a lot smaller.

Having said this, he will get better, and he doesn't need to be an all star for us, but he does need to defend a hell of a lot better so everyone else can, needs to play at a pace that matches our strength's, and needs to look for others more than himself. He has the ability to be a great facilitator, but his ego gets in his way at times.

lol @ people blaming Burke for the lack of pace last season.

Lol @ anyone blaming Burke for being the best PG by far on a crap team. Blaming him for the 5th pick instead of the 4th.

HOW DARE HE BE A ROOKIE!!!????

Be prepared for someone to say you can't use stats. They know what they saw, er... What they were told by Utah media.

I do appreciate that your first foray into the stat discussion on this thread is responding to a post that fits your narrative.

And that's an interesting stat line. Can you tell me where you got it, Primetime? Hard to find rebounding rates relative to in year splits.

Im surprised while looking at TB3s april numbers (7 games)...

15.5 ppg and 9 asts per game, with only 2 to's.

Also surprised to see he only shot above 40% in 1 of the 6 months of the season (december - 40.8%) .....ouch.
