Trade kickers are not possible on max contracts. Whew! Jazz dodged a bullet there.
Makes no difference. Matching would still be a piss-poor decision just to cater to ticket holders. It's a short term solution to selling tickets, while limiting our ability to improve over the next 4 years. We've already seen a major ****up when the FO didn't dump Sap and Al at the right time. That hurt the rebuild and so will a mega-overpay for Gordo.
I get the feeling you don't want the Jazz FO to match on Hayward.
I might be reading too much into your comments.
No, I think he meant that matching JUST to cater to season ticket holders is a mistake. If there are other reasons for matching, then that's ok.freakazod said:Matching would still be a piss-poor decision just to cater to ticket holders.

Hope that helps.
That doesn't seem quite right.
"A player's salary added to his trade bonus cannot exceed the maximum for that season (based on years of service)."

The way I read that, is that if the max level increases faster than Hayward's contract increases, then he can indeed have a trade bonus for the difference.
Yes, I know. I was just playing along with the joke.He has other posts, you didn't feel the sarcasm in my post?
He's been pretty straight forward about what he thinks and it's not just about catering to season ticket holders.
Yes, I know. I was just playing along with the joke.
Now I feel dumber than I did before.
Didn't know that was possible.
