Seeing how quickly this thread deteriorated within the first 3 posts, I won't bother to read through the whole thing.
I too am excited about the potential of this team...starting this year. I have a very good feeling about Quin Snyder, which is not something I've been able to say about a Jazz head coach for...well...ever. You knew what you were getting with Sloan, for better or worse. But his coaching style never gave me much in the way of anticipation. And Corbin, at his very best, was lackluster. At his worst, he was just plain turrible.
If Quin Snyder is the teacher, the development-minded, and the defense-focused coach that he's supposed to be, then this very team can become quite good very quickly. If passing and playing defense get you playing time, and the players know that, then this young group can become special in relatively short order. We will find out this season, or at least get a strong indication, whether or not these players were just not coached properly.
I believe Quin will get the most out of these players. And while I don't think the Western Conference Finals is realistic this year, I believe a strong first round series is in the cards. I could see a gritty and exciting Jazz team extending a first round series to 6-7 games before losing to a much higher seeded opponent. If they can somehow sneak out of the first round, I see them losing in the second round. Either way, they won't be back in the lottery this year and they will have given both the Western Conference and the NBA at large a major shot across the bow as a team to be reckoned with in years to come.
