ISIS

deserves it own thread.

bombing from air wont help.

time for Barrack Hussein Osama enum i mean obama, to put Boots on the ground.
rescue the yazidis fro the mountain.

or it is not worth it since there is no oil in those mountains

im pretty meh when it comes to isis.... I had the app on my phone when i got my phone originally but i never really used it. So i deleted the isis mobile wallet app

i wonder if muslims can live in a democracy.

this whole situation makes me hope saddam was back controlling iraq.

seems like certain groups need a stern dictator who does not take ****

So here I was thinking this was going to be an Archer thread.

I am so disappointed.

funny thing is

isis commits true genocide, no-one bats an eye

israel defends them self and kills a few civies(collateral) and everyone loses their minds.

israel gaza thread is long. this one does not get 1 serious response.
this mess was created by usa. and certain Islamic factions.

so assuming most of you are from usa. and some muslim on this board critizied israel gaza.
yet they do not dare critizie their own mess.

this is SAD. HAVE SOME HONESTY PEOPLE.

if you got nothing serious to say on this. stfu about israel

Unless the next thing you post references the "Danger Zone", how we get ants, or even stir Friday, just delete this.

OP does not deliver. 0/5 stars, would not read again.

If you can still write that sentence after that long Israel thread, you truly don't deserve any serious answer whatsoever on any of this kind of threads.

Even this response of mine is a mistake.

Still, I'm going to to write just a gist of my opinion about the ISIS, for the sake of the sound minded people on the board.

Isis from now on is a major power in the area, really thanks to the hypocrisy of America&Turkey, and they will be very relevant on the short term. Because just today, the biggest secret supporter of the ISIS, Tayyip Erdoğan has won the presidential elections in Turkey.

On the long term, I don't believe they can stay in power much, because they don't have wide support from the local people. They can't and won't get acceptance from any of the local cities they have conquered(!). They are just destroying everyone and everything in their way and it will probably the biggest cause to their inevitable collapse at the end of the day.

https://www.cnn.com/2014/08/10/world/meast/iraq-crisis/

Kurds rescued about 20,000 Yazidis.

https://www.nytimes.com/2014/08/11/world/middleeast/iraq.html?_r=0

Kurds take advantage of US bombings to retake two Iraqi towns.

Looks like the strikes are making a difference. ISIS is in direct conflict with the Syrian, Iraqi Lebanese and Kurdish armies so the US does not need boots on the ground.

also i think boots on the gorund not only for fighting but as humanitarian mission. suppplying food and tents

They are already supplying humanitarian aid via air drops. I do not want boots on the ground in Ukraine, Iraq, Syria or Gaza. For various reasons.

I do feel that the US has obligations (treaties)to Japan and the Philippines to have a naval presence there during their ocean based dispute with China.

imho if there ever was a time for boots on the ground it is now.
this whole mess is partly usa fault.
Saddam Hussein had his faults. but this is WORSE then saddam. he kept these monsters in check with an iron fist.
a friend of mine told me few days ago, maybe Islam is not ready for democracy, maybe they need ***hole dictators like saddam to keep em in check till they are ready.

I think evil needs to be fought with all force, and isis is pure (misguided) evil. boots on the ground to eradicate evil. not give it a chance to grow.
if the usa puts BOG for oil. why not to eradicate evil.

soldiers are there for 2 reasons to kill and be killed. so risking their live to save 1 civilian live is what needs to be done

in other words, we live in a world now where loss of soldiers is less acceptable, unless their is some monetary gain eg oil?

That is awefully presumptious of you.

It was never ok. Especially since other countries got those oil contracts you keep going on about. But going into Iraq was a mistake, no question. However the US spent 10 years pouring in blood, money, expertise and sweat. I see that debt as repaid.

Also you are viewing it as a problem that the US can solve. It isn't. The middle east is a no win scenario for the US. As I have already stated. The Lebanese, Syrian, Iraqi and Kurdish armies are much better suited to that task. They are from those areas and as a result have the support from the populace as they are from that populace. Also they are already startign to cooperate and get support. The Iraqi army just sent a C130 full of ammo to the Kurdish Peshmerga. Hezbollah is giving logistical support to the Lebanese army and in Syria other rebel groups are now fighting ISIS as well.

This is not because of America, even though we played our part. The actions of the Iraqi PM al-Mailiki (in how he alienated the Kurds and Sunnis) and the quagmire that is Syria are as much to blame for this as anything.

Air strikes, air drops and military supplies to these armies is the best course of action for the US. The President has this one right.
