What's new

Jazz at Clippers Dec 29--8:30

The knock on Aminu in the draft was that he couldn't shoot. Guess he's been working on his shot. Good looking player.

I was thinking that myself. And the guy who was labeled as possibly the best shooter, Hayward, can't hit the broad side of a barn. Funny how that worked out.

Hayward was not labeled as the best shooter, but he does need to start hitting shots. And he will.

Okur has been shooting pretty well. Seems to have a lot of confidence. The Jazz need another explosive player though. Meanwhile, where's CJ Miles this game?

k - the clippers' announcers didn't talk about it.

Hayward showing some confidence all of a sudden, and DWill is showing some confidence in Hayward too.

Good for Hayward! Good to see him get some confidence back. I bet he keeps it up.

Also, it's too bad the Jazz are so consistently bad with Al on the floor. We probably would have beaten the Clippers if he hadn't played.

Yeah, his 29 and 9 is what is keeping the Clippers close to us. Otherwise we would have blown them away

I'm assuming you missed the joke I was making in my post. If you were in fact trying to join in on my sarcasm, then I retract that statement.

Maybe s/he thought you were talking about Jefferson's characteristic first-quarter disappearing act (relative to subsequent quarters).

Or the fact that Utah outscored L.A. by 9 points in the 9 minutes that Jefferson was off the court relative to the -1 point when he was on.

Bets game of the season for Al Jeff - 31 pts, 10 rebs 3 blocks 2 assists

The blocks are coming in fairly regularly and that is always a good sign

. . . except for his 0-rebound, 4-point, -1 net block (he logged zero, was blocked once) sleepwalk in Q1.

Not exactly "bets" in my book, although to this point in the season, it has been safe to bet that Jefferson does dog it in Q1, and that Sloan does nothing about it more often than not.

This game would've been more easily winnable if the height had been put in at the beginning instead of Sloan's bumbling through Evans first, implicitly acnowledging his error after having to bench PM and Evans with two quick Q1 fouls each. Once Okur and especially Fesenko alongside Okur happened onto the court, things started to settle down, and Utah was able to dig themselves out of the hole that the starters--in customary fashion (except with Elder Hayward instead of Kirilenko) dug, like a Christmas present waiting to be buried.

Definitely. I mean, Fesenko shot 100% tonight in those 7 minutes. That's probably close to #1 in the league.

If only Sloan had to listened to Armchairstrategy and played Fesenko for 43 mins like Hayward, we would'ave blownthe Clippers away. Sloan is still the subborn old fool
