I was curious after reading the beers for bras thread or whatever. For those of you who imbibe, why do you do it? For those that do not, why not? Or if you did and now don't why?
For me, I have tried it, and even gotten drunk before, but got nothing out of it besides tired and a headache, and, frankly, it tastes like absolute ****, so put me in the camp of I just don't get it. There is also a religious reason to it for me, but that is less of am impetus for me than it might be for others.
How about you?
If this was already discussed I apologize for the repeat, so just answer the question Claire!
Good post, broncs.
Come hang in the geezy. srs.
Thanks but that's a long drive for a night drinking.![]()
Actually, I get this well. Except my sphere is hard drugs, especially coke. I've done none.without reading the whole thread. . . .
The poll lacks my two main reasons:
i DON'T DRINK BECAUSE i'M AN ELITIST SNOB TOO DAMN GOOD TO ROLL IN THE GUTTERS FILLED WITH DEGENERATE INFERIOR SORRY EXCUSES FOR HUMANITY.
(I've been in places where I didn't speak to a sober man in five months of missionary tracting calling on home after home for ten hours a day) (drunks stink) (drunks can't think) (drunks can't work) (drunks can't support families) (drunks can't get it up in the morning or at night) (drunks can't make good decisions on principled reasoning). . . . .etc etc etc etc etc etc. . . .
I DON'T DRINK BECAUSE OF STUDIED REASONS DERIVED FROM MY BIOCHEMISTRY BACKGROUND. SOMETHING ABOUT OUR DRUG DEPENDENCY/ DOPAMINE REGULATION.
Seriously, my great grandpa was a prosperous pub owner kitty corner from Parliament, in London. It was the cool place for elitist movers and shakers to meet to conspire about how to run the world.
And I'm a cousin to Maurice Strong, and some others of today's movers and shakers. . . . . trying hard to find peace with myself. . . . . and to burn all the bridges to privilege.
I know I'd be a drunk if I drank my first beer.
I'm done.
Maybe you should try it with meth.
I've never interacted with anyone on meth, to my knowledge.
Dude, we talk all the time. Seriously.
Let's be honest here, I don't drink because my wife would kick the ever living **** out of me. I drank before I met my wife, and pretty much only beer. I've had my share of hard liquor, and almost each time I ended up hovering over a toilet or damn near dying the next day. I drank almost every day for six years but only got sloshed a dozen or so times. I really hate being drunk.
I do miss the taste of beer though. I get a little sip here and there (at GF's poker games, for instance), but it's only enough to quench my taste buds/desires. If the Mo's all of a sudden said it was ok to consume Bud Light, I'd be the first one in line at the grocery store.
Frickin' Mormons.
Where is the choice To talk to girls, get them drunker than me, and try hook up?
That would be social drinking.
