Carrick Felix Injured from Practice

It's weird how these scrubs who hardly even play have the worst injury luck. Felix missed most of last year with a sports hernia, dude just can't catch a break.

Can he be put on an injured list and not count against the 15 man limit until he's healed?

I don't think an injury will impact Carrick's odds of making the team, unless Toure goes above and beyond everyone's expectations.

In my opinion both Carrick and Murry will make the team! We need a reliable pg behind Exum!

I would send Bost, Clark and Murphy in D-League.

It will be a good competition between Motum and Cooley to make the team. They will be both cut most likely and play overseas.

Watching the youtube highlights, Carrick seems a player with good prospect.

Murry and Felix better both make the team. They have some unique talent that I'd really like to see. Murry is probably one of the guys I'm most excited to root for, hopefully he gets to throw a lot of passes to gobert.

So sending a guy to the D-League still counts towards the 15 player maximum if they are guaranteed contract and you're looking to retain his rights. The non-guaranteed just get cut and DLeague teams decide what to do with them and any team can sign him at any point.

The Jazz have 13 guys with guaranteed contracts: Hayward, Favors, Kanter, Booker, Exum, Novak, Burks, Burke, Evans, Hood, Gobert, Clark, and Felix.

Outside of those guaranteed there is 2 spots for guys to make the roster between Dahntay Jones, Toure Murry, Kevin Murphy, Dee Bost, Jack Cooley, and Brock Motum

Don't discount that a guaranteed guy or two or three could be involved in a trade before the season starts.

Perhaps, but I don't think a trade happens until at least the deadline.
I think the Jazz want to see what they have with their 8-man rotation (Kanter, Favors, Gobert at the 4/5, Hayward, Hood and Burks at the wings and Burke and Exum), supported by a valuable backup in Booker and floor spacer in Novak. The rest really have no trade value other than throw-ins to make deals work.

IMO, it's too soon to make a major move, such as trading Burke and giving the reins to Exum or trading Burks and having Hayward and Hood be the starters. Or even putting Kanter or Favors on the trading block and asking Gobert to play 30+ mins.

I think the Jazz will go with 15 players at least until the end of the year when non-guaranteed deals become guaranteed. Murry and Motum are the most likely to claim the last 2 spots, although Snyder's emphasis on tough "D" could give Dahntay a shot. Cooley has an outside chance. Of the guaranteed players, Clark is likely the one on the bubble. I don't see much of a role for Evans, but he's such a popular player, I just don't see him getting released.

Guys I could see traded include Evans, Clark, Felix or Murry. Not rotation guys.
