I agree but i think it is better if he is cautious at first and looks for the better players and shoots at .375 and .444 from three than throwing up a million bricks like Smart

For a couple years, we heard about this mystery international import coming from Australia named Dante Exum. He was a point guard in a shooting guard's body. He was going to be the latest and greatest young guard to step into the NBA. But we hardly had any footage of him. The little there was available showed Exum going up against competition that looked like the younger brothers of the high school kids Al Jefferson destroyed in his pre-draft footage.

Now we get to see this lanky, slippery combo guard navigate lanes and angles in the NBA. He won't be an acquired taste like Vegemite (also, you shouldn't have to acquire a taste for anything, so the Vegemite supporters need to stop claiming its greatness). He'll be the future of Utah Jazz basketball


They are predicting exum to be the future of jazz basketball after only a couple of pre-season games. How dare they.

Lebron, dirk, garnett, kobe, deshawn, cj miles....... none of them played any college ball, yet i bet people still had thoughts and whether or not they would be stars, busts, or just average players.

His December and February were atrocious. I hope we fans understand this is a growing process for him. We will see the brilliance with the bad and will just have to be patient. The Kobe comparisons are embarrassing and do Exum no favors. Their rookie years are not similar in age and hype. As a rookie Kobe was eighteen, just out of high school, and a full year younger than Exum. By nineteen Kobe was an All-Star. He showed much more potential, much earlier than Exum.

Could it be Quin has given him a couple of things to really work on? What better way to improve what are perceived as weaknesses than in preseason games?

I guess the board needs a new whipping boy and Dante is it. It just amazes me that he was ripped for his shooting, goes out and has a good shooting night (3-5) and now some are still unhappy about his shooting.

Shooting and defense: Snyder has mentioned those as key areas of focus - along with playing with pace.

Amazing people still find things to bitch about - I'm not even going to try to judge Exum's game until about 40 games in. Right now I see plenty of potential and that's enough for me.

For me the excitement revolves around The Jazz finding two late round draft choices in Gobert and Hood who have starter-like talent written all over them within 1-3 years.

How the hell did Hood last to the 23rd pick?

I question that too. Locke said that watching Duke he thought Hood was better than Parker. I thought he was crazy, but then watched some of the Duke games and although Parker was the highlight player, I felt Hood was just as good. His stroke is sexual...
