Can someone yell Ty for me?

HIT!

LOL - the attitude around here at the beginning of the 2006 season sucked (like it often does) chiefly because Boozer was a loser, Okur couldn't guard anyone, the game passed Sloan by and Utah screwed up by taking DW in front of CP3. It wasn't till about 20 games in before people started believing.

Things are way more uptimistic now

Seems like the attitude going into that year was mostly positive. Deron really started coming along later in the season that rookie year and once Boozer got back on the court everyone really looked to be clicking. I know our race to the playoffs came up just short by a game or two. We also started to believing in that team immediately after taking Houston at home, then Phoenix on the road, and a few nights later beating Detroit at home.

Dwill still better that CP3 in my mind. CP3 just isn't a winner.

Deron was amazing during those early years with us. Wonder what his legacy will be as compared to what it could have been if he had just not be such an *** and embraced the team.

Right, Deron would have been a better player, had he just embraced losing. As I remember it, Deron was just fine until the team he hoped was moving forward, took a huge step back and was poised to miss the playoffs. Also, Deron's career was just about to take a nose dive due to being hindered by injuries, and at this point, it looks like he'll probably never be quite the same player he was. Had things been different and he stayed, the wheels would have still come off the bus, and we would have had a lesser version of D-will after that. Can't see any possibility whatsoever of Deron's legacy being improved by that situation.

The biggest thing about the whole Deron debate that just bugs the hell out of me, is that people want to believe if Deron had just run the plays ( that were CLEARLY not working due to too much predictability, IMO), that the team would have magically become winners. That's a crock. The wheels were coming off the bus, and had Deron had a good attitude about it, the team was still fatally flawed. Not only that, but I challenge the stupid idea that fans want a player that is ok with losing. Carmello Anthony has been trashed for years because of the fact he's often laughing and joking on the sidelines, even when his team is getting killed. It gives the impression that he just doesn't care, and if Deron had been like that, I think Jazz fans might have a little better appreciation for players who ****ing HATE losing.

Deron was no angel, by any means, but he was a fierce competitor that any team would be lucky to have. I am honestly baffled that fans would complain about a player being grumpy about losing. It's ludicrous.

Are you referring to the Brewer trade? Ronnie was not good at all that year, he had been exposed at this point by not having a jump shot, and his career fell apart not to long after getting traded.
Deron was a great player, but a flawed player. At 27 he thought he was smarter than Kevin O Conner and (eventually) Jerry Sloan.
We saw how well it worked out for Brooklyn by letting Deron have a big say in management decisions.

This is the guy who threw the ball at Gordon, froze AK out of the offense, applauded the move to get Big Al (and said he was going to make him an all-star), then folded at the 1st sign of adversity when the team lost a couple on the road. Sure, he had some wrist problems. But look at the record, freakazoid: the Jazz were a winning team right up until Deron pulled his hissy fit and rebelled against Sloan.

Deron made a power play. He thought he was bigger than Jerry Sloan, KOC and the rest of the team. Well, he was for all of a week until management came to their senses. And then he was shocked when the trade went down. He was then given the keys to the team in New Jersey/Brooklyn, told management to bring in certain guys and the team underachieved.

B/c williams and boozer where products of jerry sloans system.....they are good but lets not fool our self..they havent done crap since leaving the jazz....The east is a joke.

Are you referring to the Brewer trade?

Nope. I'm referring to the change in the dynamics with the team when we tried to transition from Boozer to Al. There were multiple changes that contributed to the diminished chemistry of the team, but yeah, I'm guessing swapping out #1 offensive options probably had more to do with it.

then folded at the 1st sign of adversity.

The rest of your post was a complete pile of ****, (as per usual on this subject), but I think this statement proves how clueless you really are. At a time when EVERY other star in the league was demanding a trade(Paul, Anthony, Howard) because their team wasn't winning, Deron got grumpy and broke a few plays and dared to question whether or not the emperor had new clothes. Also, he was kinda rude to a rookie who broke a play(grow a pair, for the sake of Jerry). But yeah, he never asked for a trade, let alone ****ing DEMANDED one, but sure, first sign of adversity.

But look at the record, freakazoid: the Jazz were a winning team right up until Deron pulled his hissy fit and rebelled against Sloan.
.

Lol, wait, what? This sounds interesting. Do tell. Sounds like you think everything was peachy up until the night Jerry walked out in the middle of the game(which, of course, Deron bullied him into doing, cuz Deron is a straight-up G like that).
