LOL - the attitude around here at the beginning of the 2006 season sucked (like it often does) chiefly because Boozer was a loser, Okur couldn't guard anyone, the game passed Sloan by and Utah screwed up by taking DW in front of CP3. It wasn't till about 20 games in before people started believing.
Things are way more uptimistic now

Deron was amazing during those early years with us. Wonder what his legacy will be as compared to what it could have been if he had just not be such an *** and embraced the team.
Right, Deron would have been a better player, had he just embraced losing. As I remember it, Deron was just fine until the team he hoped was moving forward, took a huge step back and was poised to miss the playoffs. Also, Deron's career was just about to take a nose dive due to being hindered by injuries, and at this point, it looks like he'll probably never be quite the same player he was. Had things been different and he stayed, the wheels would have still come off the bus, and we would have had a lesser version of D-will after that. Can't see any possibility whatsoever of Deron's legacy being improved by that situation.

The biggest thing about the whole Deron debate that just bugs the hell out of me, is that people want to believe if Deron had just run the plays ( that were CLEARLY not working due to too much predictability, IMO), that the team would have magically become winners. That's a crock. The wheels were coming off the bus, and had Deron had a good attitude about it, the team was still fatally flawed. Not only that, but I challenge the stupid idea that fans want a player that is ok with losing. Carmello Anthony has been trashed for years because of the fact he's often laughing and joking on the sidelines, even when his team is getting killed. It gives the impression that he just doesn't care, and if Deron had been like that, I think Jazz fans might have a little better appreciation for players who ****ing HATE losing.

Deron was no angel, by any means, but he was a fierce competitor that any team would be lucky to have. I am honestly baffled that fans would complain about a player being grumpy about losing. It's ludicrous.
Are you referring to the Brewer trade?
then folded at the 1st sign of adversity.
But look at the record, freakazoid: the Jazz were a winning team right up until Deron pulled his hissy fit and rebelled against Sloan.
