19 kids and counting: Jill's Wedding

And why would anybody want to model their life after somebody who has 19 kids. Why this is some kind of inspiration to HH? That is sheer stupidity not inspiration.

There's a movement in America called Quiverfull. It's about fundamentalist Christians having a very large number of children, so they can eventually be the majority of the population and take over politically. The Duggars (the family in this show) are in the Quiverfull movement, to my understanding.

You're entitled to call the bible stupid just as much as I'm entitled to find inspiration from it as well as its stewards.

Be inspired all you want, but remember that, generally, these are the people who support the Darren Wilsons of the world.

Well to really religious people they take go out and multiple the earth literally. I agree with you but this ideology is supported by many hard core christian people in the south and right here in Utah.

I don't find having 19 births inspiring consider the earth is already overpopulated. I call it irresponsible.

Beside the fact that she doesn't even take care of her children, she paws them off on the older children.

I think these kids are way too young to be married especially since they barely even know each other. They hadn't even kissed before they were married according to the girl.

The marriage covenant is just more control over the couple. Just makes it harder to divorce and makes lawyers richer. You already make a covenant when you get married so making it harder to divorce isn't going to make the marriage work. Seems like 1700 stuff to me.

I think they made a movie about this. It was called Idiocracy

Every post of mine in this thread is completely sarcastic. The Duggars make me feel sick more than inspired.

That's what I figured but you followed up with some posts that had me wondering if you were serious.

Interesting stuff. Never heard of this. In the whole wikipedia article there is no talk of the economics.

Already lost to the illegal immigrants...ummm, I mean undocumented visitors. It's a movement called "Open Borders."

I disagree. I think the act of having "a lot" of kids has less to do with some sort of political movement and more to do with lack of education and religious influence.
