What's new

Has an infraction ever been reversed?

I always just say. "thank you, sir, may I have another?"

Maybe I should try bitchin like a lil bitch like Cy. Will you mentor me, Cy?

It's rare, but it has happened. Probably no more than once per year, and maybe not even that often.

I've reversed them on occasion when I meant to issue a warning but chose the wrong option and it went through as an infraction

But that's not the same thing as saying the mods changed their minds which I think is more what you were asking

Changing your mind on an infraction would show weakness to your subjects. I'm pretty sure that's covered in the bylaws of The Modstapo Manifesto.

I can think of another poster off the top of my head that has had an infraction reversed.

One of the reasons, imo, that it does not happen more often is no one really puts forward a legitimate argument as to why they feel it is unjust. They either say nothing or they throw a temper tantrum.

This reply just shows how simple-minded you can be at times, my dear plastic friend.

Sometimes, new information comes to light in other threads that clarify a situation - - such as perhaps if an infraction was issued for "personal attack" but then we discover that there was sufficient provocation to lead us to feel that the personal "attack" was not as egregious as it may have appeared upon first reading of the post.

As stoked mentioned, sometimes this comes about because the "infractee" provides good evidence to explain the situation, and sometimes just because another mod weighs in on the discussion with additional information.

Unfortunately, your post does not pass the smell test.
