What's new

Game Thread - 12/1/14 Denver at Utah, 7 pm (Root) *THE RETURN OF ALEC*

Man these losses are becoming depressing. Mostly because the Jazz could have 3 or so more wins with just a few breaks going their way.

Anyone have a clip of the flagrant foul on burks? They didn't show a replay at the game and I wanna see how bad it was
I don't have a replay.
It was pretty Damn brutal..... but imo unintentional. Afflalo went for the ball but Burks made a nice double pump and made it basically unblockable so afflalo hit Burks pretty hard right in the face.

Burks was pretty high up in the air and going pretty fast at the rim. Burks hit the floor really hard and was really lucky he wasn't hurt.

It looked about as bad as any foul you will see..... but like I said, it was not malicious/intentional imo

If they can look at replays in the last 2 minutes they should look at fouls also. Jazz should have at least got the ball back after the foul by Lawson was seen clear as day on the replay.

Jazz got hosed.
Also hated the technical on Briggs. That rule should be changed. Burks gets hammered on the head and goes to the floor. It's a flagrant 2. Trainer runs out to make sure he's ok and gets assessed a "T" for leaving the bench before he's officially summoned. That's a ***** call.

Some things I took from this game
Kanter seems to be the only guy that scores early in the game. For as much crap as he gets on here he's been playing pretty solid.
Burke played some poor D but played well on offense
Burks impressed me a lot. I'm a big burks fan and am glad he played well. Glad to see him attack the rim again
Rudy is a beast. It doesn't show in his box score but he's special. He's playing with fire too
Hayward was quiet at the start of the game when we needed him but played very well overall

And finally the refs were really bad. Every game I watch the refs are just awful.
But glad to see some fire in burks and glad he didn't get hurt

Kanter has to convert his offensive rebounds.
When he's on his third pump fake, and surrounded by three defenders, he might want to pass it out and reset the offense (although I recognize that turning down shots right at the rim is generally a bad idea).

Really? I thought this group did a pretty good job overall. NBA officiating has also gotten a lot better over the last two or three seasons IMO.

The only bad call was the no-call foul on Burke.

I thought the Hayward charge on Fahried was iffy at first, but the replay proved me wrong. It was a good call by the refs.

Same with the no call on Lawson's block on Hayward. He did indeed get all ball.

Sucks we lost but we're young and will improve and begin winning these close games (the question is when). Nice to see Kanter playing decent also.

Refs are going to miss a few calls here and there. The refs did a good job keeping the game under control without taking it over, and were pretty fair overall. Can't ask for more.

I don't think Hayward really had much to complain about on that play. If anything the Jazz were fortunate that Lawson couldn't keep his hand on the ball another split second to force a jump ball.

Jazz got hosed.

The Jazz did get hosed on that, but they still had opportunities. It's embarrassing that the NBA still has such a big flaw in its replay system. Tonight wasn't the first time that's happened and it won't be the last. But hey, at least the NBA has the fancy replay center for the broadcasters to talk about during every review.
