BYU vs U of U gamethread

The officiating was just bad. I think the 2 second thing you are talking about was actually whether or not BYU established possession before a jump ball was called. Judgement call but they didn't imo. It would have been a shot clock violation instead Utah got the ball and a new clock. For most of the game it favored BYU actually. The last 2 minutes definitely favored the Utes. You're right each team had their chances but the officiating was bad.

No, that play was explained on the radio and sounded legit. The one I was thinking of was part of the first half.

It doesn't matter though. Even in a close game I can't blame even bad officiating for a loss unless its super bad and all in favor of one team. It takes a ton of really bad calls one way for me to blame refs on anything in basketball. Much different than a bad call in a close game in football.

The way we closed out the half was disappointing, same with the end of the game. BYU had chances at the end. Good game though.

Honestly shocked how incredibly Mormon the players look. Me and my roommates were amazed.

is that the most mormon-looking roster in BYU history?

Had to listen on the radio so didn't see with my eyes, but was the officiating as bad as it sounded? Was that Ute shot that counted really 2 seconds after the shot clock expired?

TBH though, even with the bad officiating even if it favored the Utes, the Cougs had their chances to win the game and couldn't. Missing front ends of 1 and 1 situations, blowing multiple layups with nobody around, crappy rebounding. Zero big support.

A good game, but I just can't put the loss on refs even if they sucked.

I re watched the game last night while doing homework and that shot you talked about was in the first half, and it was probly the worst non call for a shot clock violation I've ever seen.

Taylor drove the lane and dished it to Reyes for a layup. The clock went off while Taylor still had the ball in his hand.

Like, not the guy who shot the ball still had it in his hand when the clock went off, but the guy who passed the ball to the guy who shot the ball still had the ball in his hand when the shot clock went off.

LMAO

Go Utes!!!

Is it me or does it seem like there are far more blocking fouls called in college in comparison to the NBA? I guess it could be that college players are not good at planting their feet for a charge.
