Shoud the Jazz Claim Josh Smith?

Trey passes the ball to Josh at the three pt line ,"take the 3 Josh",he passes back to Trey ,"you take the 3 Trey".......Jazzfanz everywhere at the edge of there seat.......

Addition by subtraction. I think this move was made right now to allow Monroe and Drummond to play together without Smith's horrible efficiency issues and bad attitude dragging the team down as SVG tries to build around his twin towers. This move screams of tryin to extend Monroe next year. They've kept him, so they still have his Bird rights and can sign him for more than any other team. They just need to convince him to stay. Getting rid of Josh Smith was a step inthe right direction.
Right. But you would think they'd at least be able to trade him for expirings. Heck, I'm sure they might have even been willing to GIVE a 2nd-round pick to shed the contract. But no one wanted him at his rate of pay. At the very least, he'd be a contract to trade NEXT year. That they're willing to take a cap hit for 4 years in order to dump him speaks volumes.

Josh Smith probably thinks he's a starter especially on a team with 9 wins. I doubt this experiment would end well. To answer your question, I'd take a one armed Ingles.

Dont want him, but I am surprised there was no trade market for him. I am also surprised some team with cap room doesnt pick him up before he clears the waiver and try to trade him next year around the trade deadline to a contender. I think he will be worth something and a few teams need to spend money next year anyways might as well take a risk on him. Hope he plays a little better on your team and next years trade deadline you could pick up a player or two you want or at least a late first round pick from a contender.
