OK I'll give it average or may be slightly above, but still way below the likes of Broadchurch/True Detective.
It's not really fair to compare it to TD though…that was Harrellson and McConaghey, both of whom are very good actors. You usually don't get those types on tv shows.
I mean, that's like saying that, "hey, Karl Malone was pretty good I guess, but he's no Kareem." Naw, both were excellent, and should be seen as such. Ya feel me?
Hmm... k, if you're gonna use basketball analogy I would say the Killing = Derrick Favors, TD = Malone. Broadchurch = may be Nowitzki? (since the show is British/European).
Damn it! I really want to check out broadchurch! Not on my on demand on Comcast though :-(Definitely is. You should check it out. Much better/deeper character development than the Killing. Better acting too, IMO. Tension/suspense is taut all the way through, unlike the Killing where I'll have time to check my emails & browse Jazzfanz while watching.
Check it out and let us know what you think.

Looks like Netflix may lose a ton of BBC stuff...

I personally felt The Killing was always extremely taut.
Wow .. ok.. well i haven't watched season 2-3 so I can't comment on those.
But season 1 the episode where Holden & Linden were running around looking for Jack? I was browsing internet right through that episode... I mean what was the point of that diversion???
