What's new

Would Dante benefit from a month or two in the D-League?

Remember Hayward's first year?

Yeah, nah.

Hayward had a couple of huge games his first year. Remember Kobe complimenting him? But I still can't get over how unreal Dante's first step is. No matter how he plays this year I still think there is something incredibly special about Dante and we'll see it in about two more years. Not worried at all.

I remembered how Dwill threw that ball at him. The Lakers game was right at the end of the season iirc?? Exum had a few nice games himself didnt he??

Forgot about D-will! He could be such a douche.

68th game of season. Lakers game where Kobe complimented him:

22 pts. 6 reb. 5 ast. 2 stl 1 blk 64% FG and 50% 3pt.

68 68 2011-04-05 21-013 UTA @ LAL W (+1) 0 34:34 9 14 .643 2 4 .500 2 5 .400 1 5 6 5 2 1 4 3 22 17.8 +6

He dropped 34 on Denver one week later, last game of season. I was there for that one...awesome.

That, sir is the question. Who do we play? We have Burke, Dante, and........................................? Hayward/Joe as a Point-forward??

That's what I said. Who is our SG. What is the name of our PG. I don't know is the point forward.

*Abbott and Costello say hello.

So, lets say that Dante goes to the D-League for a few weeks.... Who is our backup PG?
I think it would be ian clarke

You guys gotta chill the **** out. Exum is a 19 yr old rookie, and even though he speaks English he's from Australia and this is a new experience for him.
I don't care if he plays off the ball all season. There are switches in possessions. There are times in games when he handles. He will make his experiences and that will be positive. He'll know exactly where he struggled and he'll have a better understanding of what he actually should improve during his summer "vacation".
It's two different things to tell Exum he has to work on his ballhandling and strength and for him to experience first hand to bounce off Dwight Howard while attempting to use his body to create space on a layup.
Same for his handling.
I'm not opposed to send him to the D-League if coach thinks he might need to experience some personal success and lift his spirits. But he has a steady role on the team and plays a solid 12-25 min depending on performance and Trey's health status.

But I know some of you guys are less patient than screaming infants who wanna motorboat their mommies. So I'll expect more entertaining threads about how Exum is a total bust.

I believe sending him down for a couple of weeks might help. If I'm the Jazz I probably wait to do it until the D League Showcase so that he can get as many games in as possible.

Also, it's a nice stealth tank move.

Elliot Williams could be the back up point. At one point I think he was third or fourth in the DLeague in assists so I'm guessing he was bringing the ball up.
