Not sure about minutes 2-8 specifically but the Jazz defense in the 2nd half as a whole was pretty good, and much more up to their January standard.

The Jazz played pretty well in both halves. The game changed as it went along as both teams adjusted to one another and the stats changed as well. The Jazz and Memphis made some adjustments at halftime, and the Jazz played better defensively and worse offensively when comparing results across the halves. They still played pretty well in the 2nd half. Yes, the results when looking at efficiency were much in favor of offense in the first half, and much in favor of defense in the 2nd half, and that happens. The Jazz also did much better in the 2nd half of not allowing easy baskets off of bad turnovers or bad shots. Seemed the Memphis fast break points went down in the 2nd half.

Never do I recall saying that the Jazz were good or bad at anything in this game. Just thought they played pretty well. I think most people would agree with that assessment.

Jazz played solid D by their standards, Memphis played better O. They would routinely make 4 or 5 passes in order to get a look. Puts unbelievable pressure on a defense.

Kanter was terrific in the first half. If his teammates could shoot he'd have four assists. Kanter is not a natural passer but he just keeps getting better and better. First he couldn't play defense, so he starts playing defense harder. Now the claim is he can't pass. He comes out tonight making very good passes. You don't trade a kid for a bag of peanuts when he is still getting better and better.

Thought Kanter actually passed alright tonight. I saw him pivot to survey teh floor a couple of times to get a feel for where the double would come from so he would be ready to pass out. I liked that.

There were still a lot of times he just took the ball and shot it before doing anything else though.
