NBA.com Mid-season report.

Since Jerry has such a crappy tack record, you know?

You're right, that's the only thing that matters. A good record when you've had 2 HoF (possibly best ever in their position) on your team for over a decade. Lack of adjustments, terrible response to game changes, and an archaic system that cannot evolve, mean nothing, because he won more games than he lost.

Coach Sloan is WIDELY considered, by fans, players, other coaches, and those involved in the game, to be one of the best coaches in the game of basketball. And its not even close. Its Jazztard fans that make up the group that think he sucks. The grass is always greener. And if you are only a Jazz fan because you expect them to win a championship, then I suggest you find another team to root for, because I don't see it happening as the NBA is currenly constructed. The fact that he even got us to the finals with Stockalone was ****ing phenomenal considering the competition, the SLC market, and the general makeup of the NBA.

Of course, the bandwagon argument. How long would it take to write a computer program to replace Sloan? Just use the same starting line up no matter what happens, do your pre-scripted substitutions/time outs regardless of anything happening in game, then blame losses on some tired cliche such as "we weren't playing as a team" or "if you don't defend you lose". I'm pretty sure no one would notice the difference.

Not callig you a bandwggoner. Just saying that if you EXPECT the Jazz to win a championship, then you are being unrealistic. While I HOPE they someday win a championship, I certainly do not EXPECT it. Not in this NBA. Small market teams do not win NBA titles anymore. And don't tell me that San Antonio counts as a small market, its in ****ing Texas for chrissake. Like I said, the fact that he got us as close as he did was ****ing phenomenal IMO.

San Antonio won several championships, and they're currently leading the NBA. It's a small market team. I'd be happy if the Jazz can COMPETE for a championship, instead of being an early-exit playoffs team.

Edited my post before i saw yours.

ETA, I don't disagree that I want to see them at least be competetive in that regard. And we can get to that point again, yes even with Coach Sloan at the helm. But I think that is a tribute to how well-run of an organization we have, because I do not think the competetive balance in the NBA would otherwise allow it.

Exactly.
