I never watched the show until just a few weeks ago. AMC had a marathon and played every episode. So I DVR'D it and mashed through the whole thing in just a few weeks. Man I love DVR. This is probably the best way to watch a series. I don't want to wait forever to know what happens in the next episode. It's nice just getting right to it and being able to skip commercials. I think it makes the show more watchable. Instead of feeling disappointed with one episode and having to wait to see if the next one is better, you can just get on with it quicker, and find yourself entertained again.
Overall I think it's pretty good. It's up and down some. Some episodes are better than others like with any show. It's to be expected.
My only complaint about it is the same complaint I have about every scary movie or show like this. It's that people can be so dumb in the shows. They are constantly doing dumb things to get themselves killed easily. I get annoyed by that. Seriously, stop wandering off by yourself, and stop letting your kids wander off by themselves. But I guess that's what you have to do to make the show entertaining. And in real life, I suppose people can be really dumb. There are tons of little situations where I'm just shaking my head at the dumb decisions the people are making. Like when Rick is having his meeting with the Governor. Just kill him. Screw talking. Holly hell. Funny how Carl gets this but Rick doesnt. In that kind of environment I'm not screwing around. I'm taking the first shot I have at him. He's already proven to be dangerous. Shoot first, asks questions later.
This very last episode that was just on last Sunday was absolutely the worst episode though. It had nothing to it all. It's like they had to just give you something real quick, because they weren't done with what they were getting to.
I look forward to tonight's episode. Hope it's better than the last. Now I'm like everyone else, I have to wait to see what happens next. I might let a bunch build up and do the same thing again.
Again though, I like the show. It's a little addicting.
