I'm late to the thread and it's already devolved, but I'll add a little.
- Exum will become like Tony Parker, except that he'll be able to get from above the foul line right to the rim with one dribble. Exum will become an adequate shooter from mid-range, just like Tony Parker and Kevin Johnson did. Defensively, he'll be like the Scottie Pippen of point guards.
- Rudy Gobert will gain another 15 lbs of muscle as his body fills out over the next two years. He'll develop a hook shot with either hand, and will be big and strong enough to shoulder his way to the rim with both huge hands on the ball and finish with a layup or dunk using his strength up high. People will increasingly compare him to Alonzo Mourning. Gobert has a lot of room to grow offensively.
- The Jazz are still high on Alec Burks. Remember the game where he played James Harden to a draw (well, except for Harden having 10 assists)? That's what they're looking for from him.
- Hood needs to get comfortable from NBA 3-pt. range. No different from Nic Stauskas. Hood still has potential, but will start as a bench player for a year or so.
- Jazz would benefit from drafting Oubre, Booker, Trey Lyles or a bunch of other forwards, even if their pick is late lottery.
- Hayward might be able to play a few spot minutes as a stretch-4, depending on match-ups. He'd at least be better at it than Steve Novak was.
Bottom Line: The Jazz are expecting Exum and Gobert to improve dramatically, with Hayward, Burks and Favors continue to improve incrementally. In the meantime, they're still going to approach the draft opportunistically and see if they can add a stud on the wing.
