So what's this whole "friend" thing here on the board. There's a reason I've never had myspace, twitter or facebook. It's a waste of ****ing time. I've received two friend requests here on the board, subsequently accepted them but have no idea what the next step is.

Any information would be helpful...or maybe just a point in the right direction.

Thank you.

I would like to know the point as well. I've ignored the one I've received 'cause I fail to see the purpose of it.

Frankly, I was wondering the same thing. Anyone?

And posting on a message board is a more efficient use of time than Facebook?

But seriously, does there need to be a point? It's just meant for fun.

not sure what it is here, but on some message boards it means you'll get a pop-up or some other notification when your "friends" log in or reply to a thread you've posted in, it's something you change in your settings. seems like a nuisance to me, unless you really need to know that information instantaneously.

I figured it allowed easier PM type stuff but IDK. Don't think there's a lot of that going on but what do I know.

One thing that is cool tho is chat rooms- something more real time for sports chat. Some sites have one- I see more use for that than the friends thing.

There really is no point, but I friended a bunch of people just to boost my ego a bit.

Yes, yes it is. And if you can't see that I don't know what to tell you.

In regards to the friend thing, what's the fun that you personally are getting from it...because I want in.

I just tried to add you as a friend but I only saw "add contact" or something. Is that it buddy? =)

I guess that's fine. Just seemed odd to me is all. I don't use social networking sites that much myself, but I can see the value in them just like a message board.

And as far wanting in on the fun, I suppose I don't know what to tell you...just sorry you're missing out.

If it makes any difference, I 'friended' Colton, and he turned my *** down.
