The only thing we've lost is the ability to use Kanter as a bargaining piece. Buy high (trading Deron) and sell low (for "cap space"?)
Because if you renounce him you get nothing at all? We also cleared Novak off the books for next year. I don't think this is a spectacular move, but I have a hard time seeing how others don't think it helps.
