What's new

Trey Lyles being held out of practice/Summer League for now

Yes... the other scenario is maybe they agreed to a sign and trade for Harris... that one seems like a real long shot and I am not sure what would be holding that up.

Lyles for a s&t Harris? Orlando gets a solid potential piece, Jazz get a stretch 4 / back up 3. I like it but I think it's bigger then that. Why wouldn't that be done by now?

I thought the capspace we have is about 2 million more with not signing Lyles yet. His contract is ~3 million. and he hasn't signed it yet.

I don't like that at all. I'd rather sign Harris to a max and force them to decide to match or not. Don't give up assets until you have to. Harris + Lyles >>> Just Harris or Just Lyles

Spurs (assuming Aldridge signs), Warriors and OKC will be elite.

Clips take a slip and Mavs tread water.

Suns are worse.

Jazz might even get the 6th seed next year!

Jazz will be top 10 in the league next year. Not sure where that falls for us in the west, but they will be top 10. Book it.

Whatever it is, I'm assuming it's tied to Aldridge and his decision somehow, which would explain why we are waiting on something to happen instead of a yes/no choice.

If HOU does add LA, they have a PF logjam. LA, Smith, DMo, and Thomas. Something's gotta give. If they decide to resign Josh Smith, DMo might be the odd man out, and kinda perfect for the Jazz as a 3rd big. Booker + Lyles gets it done, assuming HOU adds an additional salary dump player and a pick ;)

We help them clear space to pair LA with Dwight and Harden and we give them a first rounder from this year? Why? They'd have to toss in Capela at minimum.

Motienujas would be nice, but this upcoming year will the last year of his deal and you know he is going to get a huge offer in free agency.

This all seems really weird for a team that as of recently has put so much stock into the youth movement. Especially with summer league here, and in SLC. Just all seems weird.
