What's new

Following potential 2017 draftees...

3pt shooting is what retarded Thornwell's hype the last 2 years. He had plenty of hype as a Fr. He was being discussed here.

Today was PJ Doziers bestday of the tourney. Him and Chris Silva are the ones who stand to benefit most from this run.

RUI hit a 3 in garbage time yesterday for the Zags. I hope he keeps getting burn. Zach Collins is almsot tough to evaulate because he's so damn consistent and play limited minutes.

Jonathan Williams on Gonzaga played the best game I've seen from him. He could actually be on the radar. Nice skill level, crafty lefty too.

Few and the Zags are the clear-cut favorite now IMO.

Solid showings from Justin JAckson and UNC's bigs. Jacksons done enough to enter the fringe lottery despite his frailty.

Tony Bradley was particularly effective in his limited minutes. Bam showed well in the 1st half but I thought Bradley outplayed him when they were both in the game.

I kinda wish Gabriel got more burn.. If he's in the game that last possession and guarding Maye I'm confident he would've at least contested the game-winner.

Isaac Humphries with a tremendous showing, he was awesome this game.

Too little too late from Monk..

Gorjok Gak got burn in every game for Florida this tourney. He's not a 2017 draftee or maybe not even 2018. He looks like a legit 6'11" and long tho. Aussie bigman (by way of Sudan) worth keeping an eye on.

Luke Maye seems to be on a trajectory where he could improve to being a 2nd rd pick.. I doubt he can guard anyone but he's got an interesting amount of utility on offense.

How good is Jackson's mobility? Could he defend 2 guards and do the lanky, rail thin quality guard transformation like Rodney Hood and Khris Middleton?

Do you know anything about Australian guard Josh Green. No eligible until 2019.

Yeah I've made at least 2 posts about him here. He's not your standard 6'5" combo guard. I think he's going to be very good and looks 5-star quality. More hops than Exum.

I hope UK offers..

Wont be a big issue. I mean he's not gonna hang with DeRozan or anything like that but in general he can get by, he's longer than your avg SG(Rodney) too which helps.

I might actually move him up into the bottom of the lottery like DX. His game is as sharp as ever..

Scout's take: "If you weren't a De'Aaron Fox fan before, I think everyone left the tournament recognizing you may need to have a more serious conversation about him in the top five.

"I think people are still really concerned by the fact that not only does he not shoot a lot of threes and isn't a high-percentage three-point shooter, but he'll have a chance to shoot a three in rhythm open and he'll dribble in to take that long two. He just seems like he's more comfortable with that. So that's a big concern that hasn't gone away.

"But I think he solidified himself as a top-five guy. If you're sitting there and the choice is between him and Lonzo Ball—and again, he outplayed Lonzo twice and the second time emphatically—that matters. A lot of these decisions come down to 'would you take this guy over this guy,' and I think no one has helped their stock more than him."

Now that UK's out, it's officially the offseason :D. The McDonald's All-American game is in 2 days on ESPN. Here's the rosters.

Thornwell was arguably the worst player in the country playing 30+ minutes, just two years ago. He improved tremendously as a senior.

Absolute best case scenario for Thornwell is soemthing like Rodney Stuckey.. He's actually like Trevon Graham from VCU the Jazz signed in the summer of 2015, but much more dynamic.

(Aussie prospect alert) There's a 6'5" CG in the HS class of 2019 that plays with DeAndre Ayton and Hillcrest Prep. He reminds me of current Oregon So. Tyler Dorsey and is probably still growing. Pretty sure he's gone from 6"1 to 6'5" in the last 3 years. He can shoot, he's athletic, looks long, flashes some combo skill..

I like his chances.

I'm still okay with DJ Wilson at #30.

He's an interesting player to keep track of for a few reasons. Seems like the type of import that would've been able to drum up considerable hype if he stayed home.. but is instead here to try and chase down a top spot (rather than just put himself on the map)..

Ultimately he's better off playing against/training with the competition he'll find here.
