What an EMBARRASMENT! Jazz set NBA Basketball back 20 years!

Would Stockton and Malone ever have played this poorly?
The Bulls did beat them I think by 101-64, if I recall, in 1998 series, and they did come back and win the next game. They also did it by playing suffocating, physical defense, making many fouls that the refs didn't call.

No. 20 years is right! Well actually, more like 19 years 11 months and 4 days.

Have you ever heard the word "Hyperbole?"

noun, Rhetoric.
1.obvious and intentional exaggeration.
2.an extravagant statement or figure of speech not intended to be taken literally, as “to wait an eternity.”.
noun 1. a deliberate exaggeration used for effect:Exaggerated statements or claims not meant to be taken literally.

I figured you college pseudos would be quick to figure what I said was Hyperbole!

Hey CJ look at the bright side, jazzfanz wasnt around to see what you would've said about John, Karl, and Jerry after literally the worst performance in NBA history

Good to see you carolinajazz! It's been years! It seems like these days you only come around when bad things are happening to the Jazz. Why is that?

We are starting 2 rookies.. We have players injured. The general consensus was that the Jazz weren't even supposed to make the playoffs let alone reach round 2. We couldn't even reach the playoffs a few years ago.. So I'm pretty sure given the shift of dynamics which occurred offseason, we are still in good stead and have things to look forward to.

None of us thought the Jazz would lay this big of an egg and play this poorly! Will they bounce back and win the next game? Remains to be seen! However, my assessment on how they just played is spot on correct!

Hey, I give credit where credit is do! When the Jazz play well, I'm first to pat them on the back! When they play poorly, I point that out as well! When they get hosed by the refs....I'm right there on there side!

This happens when you have unrealistic expectations.

1. It is a bad matchup.
2. The Rockets played poorly in Game 2.

I am hopeful we will make a series of this but if all things equal (no injuries) we will likely lose. But we had a heck of a year. One piece away from a real contender.

So you're telling me the Jazz lost badly last night? Whew, thanks for the reporting! Whatever would we do without your dumb ***?

at least carolinajazz does one thing well; rally people against his asinine bull ****.

There is something wrong with Gobert in the head in this series. I am not taking into account game 1 because there were other factors, tight turn around, no time to game plan etc... But, he is just not right. I hear some people praising his defense in game two but there have been so many times that he is not playing defense in the paint and not even making attempts. He is fumbling the ball so much on offense. He is just not the player he was during the regular season. Maybe it is just a bad match-up but he is not playing decisive basketball right now.

Sports writers, most all of them, no matter who they are following, report on the current game objectively....
You're right...we all need to be objective. An objective person would definitely say that a blowout loss in the playoffs (a 48-win #5 seed team losing to a 65 win #1 seed) sets the entire league back 20 years. Definitely.

I've been a Jazz fan since '82. I'm still proud of this team and it's my favorite, overall, in Jazz history. It will be a long time, if ever, before anyone supplants John Stockton as my favorite player, but this team has a great group of guys. One horrific game doesn't change that.

I agree. Gobert was a big reason the Jazz did so poorly. Though the lobs were thrown poorly -- not high enough -- he's got to be more aggressive and go after those balls. Also, he was doing a terrible job of rebounding. Clint Capela looked like a HOFr against him.

I remember that embarrassing Bulls game, made worse by the fact that it was the Finals and the expectations were extremely high.

Spurs got blown out by the Rockets in their first meeting in the playoff and managed to win the series... Just saying
