What's new

Ricky Rubio or Mike Conley?

Decent post. But what if you are driving a pinto, have 60,000 to spend and there are no other cars in the world available to purchase? Maybe you just bite the bullet and buy that brand new accord (which is a very nice car and big upgrade from your pinto) for 60,000.

Someone needs to do the trade on 2k and simulate like 20 seasons then get back to us with the results.

As time goes on I’m more convinced we don’t really want a pg next to DM... I’ll take one but I’d like them to be big, good on defense, great shooter, and not control the ball as much as a traditional point guard.... sounds like more of a shooting guard to me. Honestly an upgrade at 2/3 and DM at point is what gives us the highest ceiling. DM/Ingles/Player X is what I want.

you basically described allen sans the defense yet

I really like Conley's game, but that contract of his is absolutely insane. Rubio isn't the perfect answer for us, but he's exceptional talent for the price tag. When Memphis originally signed MC to that contract it was absurd, even given the fact that his leadership and play really helped to propel the Grizzlies into the playoffs year after year. He is without a doubt a good PG and not to take away from his value, but he definitely isn't worth $30+ million a year.

Never really thought about it before but Conley reminds me a bit of Rip Hamilton. Not necessarily how they play, and they're obviously different positions, but just their approach to the game, their bodies, how they seem to have maximized what they can do on the court.

malcolm brogdon is who you described

We're talking and DL Quit on this kind of trades long time ago. It's history of his moves. No Way he give UP picks or Young promising player like Exum. We cant have Mike for Rubio and Favors. So theme is over.

Sounds like Dante Exum to me minus the great shooter part.

Just signed up now to reply this post. Have been always an observer of this forum! In Spain we support and are so proud of our NBA players, and I am a Ricky Rubio superfan (we played together when we where teenagers in the spanish minor leagues, he was absolutely undefendable), would be extremely hard that Ricky leaves Utah, a team so enjoyable to watch and basicaly a group of friends that play so well together, with a project that could last some years in the top of the NBA and adding some great players with the salary space they have. Ricky going Memphis will be sad to see, specially if Marc Gasol leaves Memphis too. If I put my feelings apart, I would get Mike Conley, because he would put the regularity that this team needs right now, in order to have a chance with teams like GSW. Ricky is part of the soul in the Utah game, but has huge limitations. The only problem I see in this trade is that Favors is a key piece in the rotation. In the example of changing the Pinto (Ricky) for a brand new 60000 dolar Honda Accord (Mike Conley), he would be that beloved Triumph motorbike (Favors) that save you the day when there is a traffic jam.

Put me down on the Rubio list. Not because I think Rubio is a much better player, but because he is already on the Jazz, Jazz already gave a first to get him. Conley may be a better player but Jazz have to give up a bunch to get him, his contract is ugh, and he is 31 and coming off another injury.

Luck and management choices have put the Jazz in their current predicament. IMO, Lindsey should get out of the hole he's dug and shouldn't keep digging.

Conley is really good but not enough if you have to trade Rubio and Favs. Last year the power of Utah was the team, and we don't know what would had happened if Ricky was healthy the last serie. And most of you think that without ricky Ingles will play better( this year is playing worse), that Donovan won't have 8/28 shooting matches or Rudy will start shooting threes or maybe mid range shoots by miracle. But the problem of all of that is Ricky and you have to trade him for a very good player that costs 3 times more and sure he will stay in the corner meanwhile Donovan shoots again and again every final quarter( and i love Mitchell). Guys, you won't play second playoff round. This is my point of view, probably wrong

I’m a little stunned they’re shopping Rubio ... given the unwavering support and faith Quin has had in him ?

Ricky is a free agent and has bought in to being a backup. DL convened a council and presented a plan whereby everyone can get a ring but it would require a great sacrifice, and Ricky stepped forward and said “here am I, send me.”
