2019 Trade Deadline Discussion

I’m actually starting to hope that Conley ends up in Detroit. I like him on the Pistons - it would make them pretty dangerous in my opinion. Conley, Griffin, and Drummond is a tough big three. And I’d like to see the Pistons be somewhat relevant again - god knows that if there’s one city in this country that need any help they can get, it’s Detroit. And It would be fun to watch them give the Celtics a hard time in the playoffs.

I highly recommend checking out the Lakers subreddit for some Grade A butthurt over this whole saga. It is very good.

I love when guys argue about negotiating in good faith when they team don’t care about openly tampering... 4 firsts and the young guys is fair for AD... they feel like they should get him cheaply... why?!?!?

They paying for a car with pennies... takes some volume.

Best part about this is that this isn't a Pushoff P situation where they can wait it out... (even though that worked great for them) There's other teams who he'd sign with, so they're gonna have to overpay now or else New Orleans will just wait.

So you'd rather see the Piston improve instead of the Jazz?

Lol. Hit’em where it hurts. Bleed them for all their worth, then at the last minute trade him to Milwaukee
I hope they follow the tradition of players publicly saying they want to go to the Lakers and being traded somewhere else. Unfortunately the Bucks don't appear to have the assets, nor do other teams that AD says he'd sign with. OTOH, maybe the Pels could make a statement by taking a lower offer from one of these teams just to spite the Lakers.

Yeah, I just don’t see the Jazz improving all that much with Conley instead of Rubio. Sure, we’d win a few more games and maybe give someone a tough time in the second round, but we ain’t beating the Warriors. And if you add either Favors or Exum to that deal it’s even worse. That would be a terrible trade. People underestimate the depth help that Favors and Exum give us.

Maybe I'm wrong on this, but the Warriors aren't going to be this dominant forever. They're going to lose Boogie and probably KD in the very near future. A team of Curry/Thompson/Green will still be contenders, but not the sure fire lock to win it every year like they are right now

Will be a free agent in the summer and the Wizards unlikely to keep him after resigning John Wall to that extension deal. Can make plays, create his own shot and shoot the 3's at 40% clip(though not a large sample size). A threat both on-ball and off-ball. Long, can switch on to guard 1-3. Definitely prefer him over Rubio in the summer should we not acquire Conley.

^ Wow. I really like this guy’s game. Am I wrong or does he not remind you of a certain someone that left us? Very similar moves. Except he looks tougher.

I'm kinda surprised I havent heard Kevin Love's name mentioned in any trade rumors. Not that I would want him on the jazz, just curious why his name doesn't pop up

That’s why I think he’s gonna come out of left field and land on the Jazz. Bring the ❤️Love !!!

At this point I think Dell Demps (New Orleans GM) should get Executive of the Year just for screwing with the Lakers.
Pop somewhere in San Antonio right now

I'm reading how Conley would be enough to keep winning even if injuries strike the Jazz. I just want to remind people that after a 12-5 start the Conley-led Grizzlies are on a 9-28 run. Can anyone explain what happened over there? They are healthy and they've got Gasol and JJJ. Every game against them was a pain in the butt, but they keep losing.
