Endgame (spoilers)

I tried to watch this last Thursday morning, but had to leave 30 minutes into because some work stuff came up. I watched it tonight and I liked it other than it was slow and most of the Avengers had very little screen time. It was probably the least funny one of all of them and was a lil more serious. That said, they nailed what family is supposed to be in a truly beautiful manner.

Tony Stark dying made me tear up. I love his character.

Why can't they bring back Black Widow if they brought back Gamora?

Captain Marvel (Brei I think her name is) is a pretty meh actress. I walked out of Captain Marvel about 45 minutes into it because it felt forced.

I used to always question Hawkeye's worthiness of being an Avenger, but he was a bad *** in this movie.

Loved how Captain America played out - good for that mf. It will be cool to see Falcon as CA now, but Buckey's nod if approval was corny af.

I loved the message and Thor learned in the film. Stop trying to be the person you're supposed to be. Become the best version of who you really are.

Can't look at Spiderman without thinking he's a young Quin Synder. That kid kills the roll though.

Correct. Shingen is played by the same actor and is a organized crime boss in Japan that survives the 2013 wolverine movie. Him having a different a name in Endgame fits perfect with him starting anew after Wolverine kicks his ***.

And the S.F. Monument contains the name Roberto Da Acosta. AKA, Sunspot, an X-Man.

Also there is the earthquake reference mentioned that is at the bottom of the ocean. Namor anyone?

Also, Professor Hulk releases Gamma Radiation into the world with his snap. The birth of mutants conveniently explained.

Wonder Woman was my favorite, surprisingly.

I agree, X-Men makes great heroines. Captain Marvel has awesome powers but is so boring and monotone.

The new X-Men movie with Sansa as Jean Grey looks good. Nightcrawler looks awesome.

I still don't think it has to be a multiverse to get the X-men in it. Just legit write them up as cultural native Americans; present ignored, and historic contributions wiped out. Anti-heroes with a chip on their shoulder... sub plot with T'Challa betraying the Avengers because he identifies with their struggle for integration in phase five.

The end of phase five, after mutants reveal themselves to society and claim successfully claim their place within, our beloved Elizabeth Olsen says "No more mutants"

I have been thinking about this and the best way to launch the Xmen would be a movie with Black Panther and Storm. I have no interest in redoing the Professor X-Magneto origin story again.

Where story on film might not have been the greatest, we had four excellent actors portraying Magneto and Xavier. You're not going to top Patrick Stewart as Xavier, but James McAvoy got way further than I expected him to.

The character of Storm deserves some love. Do we establish her sans-XMen in the MCU? Can she be sans-Xmen?

P.S. edit -> No, Cyclops does not deserve his own film.

McAvoy is just great. One of my favorite actors.

Start with Storm. There is an entire Russian MCU possibility that has been hinted at yet mostly unexplored. You could bring in Colossus and his family, tie in Black Widow and her backstory, and use Omega Red as the bad guy. Winter Soldier could be involved as well. Now you have introduced Storm and Colossus, you could move on to NightCrawler. I'm not sure I would jump to Wolverine, Jean Grey, and especially Cyclops right away. The previous three are more interesting anyway.

edit- You could introduce two more Xmen with the inevitable Fantastic 4 movie and a Dr. Strange or Spiderman movie. Now you have 5 and can meet Charles and start the school.

Yes she can. In the comics she has been an Avenger and Black Panthers wife. She was born in Africa and was revered as a Goddess. She also spent time as a cutpurse in Africa as a teen.

Should we though? Feels like her story was filled in after she was introduced, and consequently invited to join the X-men. Seems like Storm and the X-men are inextricably linked. Separating her from the group would be a lot of pressure to get it right. Is that the right place to put that pressure? The right time?

You introduce her with links to Africa or Wakanda but end the movie with her going off on her own because she is different, or at least feels that way. It’s a good way to start a new epic containing mutants within the Marvel MCU

And I don’t mean this as a way to separate her from the x-men. I mean it as a way to start off the x-men.

Kind off how we had Iron Man long before the Avengers.

My first instinct is a no.

And then I realize that's dumb of me. Introducing them this far into a Universe, we have to rebuild the Xmen from the ground up anyway. Why not Storm as a claustrophobic teenager that has a creeper crush on T'challa. Why not overly-obsessive Storm as a psuedo-villain, who runs into Charles Xavier(who has met her earlier in life) and co in her second installment.

The traditional wisdom would tell us to cast the next Wolverine, and then he can play ambassador. Let's break that mold, and have him jump into Deadpool's universe while Storm brings in everyone else.

I agree in not going with the primary names like Cyclops and Wolverine immediately. I like your ideas on storm.

There are several potential possibilities. Two that come to mind are:

Winter Soldier and Colossus’s ties to Russia. Perhaps another Russian experiment but one that escaped prior to brain washing.

Nightcrawler’s origin being Eastern Europe and the Scarlet Witch, friends in the comics and cartoons, coming from whatever that place was called in the Avengers 2 movie.

Yeah, so many possibilities. I hope they don’t go the traditional Xavier mansion, team building route. Establish a few characters in solo movies and then build towards a huge finale.

Like the 22 movie build to Endgame. Was masterfully done. Build towards AVX or Secret Invasion as the Skrulls have already been introduced. You could reintroduce Quicksilver or Black Widow that way. Show any of the Avengers as an imposter...

There is just tons and tons of materiel to play with.
