If they did get rid of the draft, they would have to get rid of rookie dealsAnyone else read that bogus article on ESPN? Might as well get rid of every small market team if he gets rid of the draft completely. No one out of college or high school would come here over LA, New York, etc.
I don't think that LA, New York, etc are allowed to have hundreds of players in their roster.Anyone else read that bogus article on ESPN? It was actually the writer Kevin Arnovitz that was suggesting getting rid of the draft.

The idea that top teams wouldn’t prioritize rookies because they fill out their roster with NBA vets is flawed at best. There’s no way that the Lakers, Knicks, Nets or Clippers wouldn’t have prioritized getting Zion or Ja this offseason. Everyone wants the #1 overall pick in the lottery for a shot at that franchise player. Small market teams would be completely out of luck under this type of scenario.Arnovitz is fine but he’s one of these dudes that does the occasional intellectual basketball article that doesn’t make real sense. The idea is so radical it’d never be considered and that means it can never be proven wrong.

So every good player is going to go to those teams every year? Because young guys trying to make a name for themselves love playing behind other big stars.Anyone else read that bogus article on ESPN? It's not that radical. American sports leagues are the only ones that have drafts.Arnovitz is fine but he’s one of these dudes that does the occasional intellectual basketball article that doesn’t make real sense. It's a smart idea. It would help the Jazz in the long run.
