What's new

This is what legitimate love for your city looks like

Talked to him a few times while I was at Weber. He’s a genuinely nice guy and it isn’t an act. He’s very loyal.

I mean 196M buys a lot of loyalty.
Not really. It hasn’t bought a lot of it in the league. Most guys are forgoing the money. Dame took a discount on his first extension. Dame never left Weber State when bigger names came calling. Dame never left his less privileged high school for the more privileged ones when they realized he was good. Dame rocked with Weber State because they bet on him. Dame’s loyalty isn’t an act, he has a track record of it.

He will literally be the highest paid guy in the league... it’s a factor I’m guessing.

So far the proof is him taking a discount, not leaving Weber State and coming back to his college town when he doesn't need to. Seems like there is more proof that he is loyal, and you're just grasping at straws to prove your point.

And? I saw AD turn down the money. I saw Kawhi turn down the money. I saw KD turn down the money.......he deserves to get paid, stars are why your franchise makes money. It's a two way street yes, but Dame could have just as easily said he didn't want an extension and left in 2 years like many of his peers to go join another star. Like I said, all of Dames track record is loyalty, as for the money, yes, he should absolutely take his money too. He could have gotten plenty of money elsewhere as well. He's making a ton off Adidas, the difference in money is big but not in the grand scheme of his career earnings.

None of those guys were super duper max eligible though... AD maybe.

Anywell... I’m just giving you **** for jumping on Dames dick when he made the smart business move... he has a good situation... and literally can’t get any more money than he took... but DM is a phony and can’t wait to get out. The difference is significant because not only does he get a lot more per year but he can lock it in now. Wait a year for FA and you risk injury... he’d be dumb AF not to sign that deal. Dame ain’t 25... that money may not be there in a year. Member when Gordumb passed up 50M+ to sign with a different team.. he ain’t getting that dough back bruh.

Yes 200M is grasping at straws.

Both AD and Kawhi were eligible for super maxes (obviously Kawhi before he was traded from SA)

Like I mentioned in the other thread I just got around to listening to Hart’s podcast with Donovan. Hart names off the most intense fanbases “Utah,OKC,Toronto, Portland....can’t remember the other”.....Donovan jumps in “I’ll give the Knicks their credit this year, I know they weren’t good, but their fans are solid” Hart kinda stops, and says “I mean yeah they’re good but those other 4 are wild”... Yes Donovan the 20 point blow out win you played in with that crowd was wild lol. I remember it. That crowd was silent most of that game lmao. He had to get that Knick fan plug in there by god! I just had to laugh that I listen to a podcast after discussing this on here the past few days and there’s Donovan, giving the quiet Knicks crowd he played in front of a nod as if it was in the same category as Portland,OKC, Toronto, or his own home crowds. Sorry if I get a little phony vibe. That might have been his most blatant love for the Knicks lie right there.

I mean seriously in that podcast this....this is the game/atmosphere he was referring to as being up there with OKC,Toronto,Utah, and Portland's crowds.....yeah I’m gonna call that phony as f***.

I love Dame. Portland is a good organization and I’m glad they found Dame. I wish them the best (except when they play Utah.)

The other thing I like about Dame is that he has said if he could play for any other team it would be Utah.

P.S. Anyone would talk about loyalty after signing a $200 million contract, but Dame has more of a track record. He’s kinda like Mike Conley...
