I've been more on the William Howard side just based on European game videos, but early signs are starting to look like Kidd might be the keeper. Is his skill set demonstrably different from Royce's? (Maybe a slight bit bigger, less of a ball-handler?). Do we want 2 Royces, or would a slightly different skill set be better?

Yes, we sure as hell do. Because Royce might be great trade capital. I like Royce, but since we don't have a 1st rd pick, Jazz may need other assets at the deadline if a good starting PF can be obtained.

Let the best man win between Howard and Kidd.

I get your point, but we don't even give the one we have all the minutes he can handle yet. And we probably don't want two on the floor at the same time very often, given Royce's 11% usage on a team that could have used more people to soak up the usage last year.

I compared Stanton Kidd a bit to Wilson Chandler. He's a more fluid and offensively skilled wing. Whereas, Royce is like a textbook 3/D guy.

You might be right, but I sure wasn't thinking that Kidd is more fluid and skilled offensively than Royce as I was watching summer league.

I like the idea of Kidd but his offense is rough right now. He is a more vertically explosive athlete than Royce but his shot is really concerning to me. It wasn’t just misses but there were some really bad misses. If he can shoot it he’s a contributor though. And he does do one or two things a game that make you say “who was that?”

I have more hope for Oni but support the Kidd project too.
 
I've heard players talk about the improvements from Royce this past off-season.
How will Royce be different, and will he be the most improved as it sounds he will be of the returning players?
 
One of the questions that Locke is asking players is what they want to come to a teammate's mind when they think of the player. I thought it was interesting that Bojan answered "Go to player". Did anyone else notice this? Did I hear it right? Does he really expect to be the go to over Mitchell and Conley?

It was a joke. It was followed by a laugh. Joke’s contain some element of truth, but it was a joke.

Kidd is respectable at several parts of the game, but I'm wondering where he's elite. Either William Howard or Stanton Kidd will make the roster, but probably not both of them. If Howard makes it, it's probably as a shooting specialist. Kidd is good enough to make the league though.
