DANTE TRADED TO CAVS

A little stunned by the sudden release of Green, only because I view power forward as our biggest area of need. But this deal was a total positive surprise to me. I mean this deal should make everybody smile, especially Exum supporters cause he wasn't ever going anywhere here. So our dilemma was how do you trade someone that never plays and has a brutal history of injury? The way I see it, getting Clarkson without sending a first, was a coup of the highest order and it only happens in a perfect storm. Jim Beilein is going through a mutiny of sorts over there cause he's treating these pampered pros like college kids with his emphasis on basics. He definitely wants to shake things up (the roster) so he can change the culture, and everybody knows that Exum doesn't make waves.

This reminds me a bit of the Korver trade last year. Korver wasnt brought in for his ability to play defense.

We got another scorer to compliment the team and when Korver scored a 3 point shot it was almost contagious. Everyone else followed. I think Clarkson can bring energy and can light it up from time to time just when we need a boost. Probably good to help us win a handful of games.

Dante didnt pan out. RIP in Cleveland's finest hospital my friend.

I also think it is interesting that we are giving Niang and Brantley the upgrades in exchange for Green. Green played with so little passion though. When he wanted to play we tore it up but that was once every 6 - 10 games. Brantley will bring toughness we desperately need if he sees the court. Niang guarding the opponent's 4 instead of their 3 is a big deal.

I can't wait for Niang to guard AD LOL. He's going to go off for 80 on us.

In post-game interviews, Gobert, DM and Jingles all spoke highly of Dante, great team-mate, worked hard, and talked about him getting an opportunity. Quin, on the other hand:

I've never been a believer on the Quin-hates-Dante conspiracy theory, but that's pretty cold.

Be interesting to see the spin Locke puts on it. He’s gotten super salty a few times when ppl have asked him about this. Quin’s response there is pretty telling

Can we trade Jazz and all the Bustum supporters to Cleveland for future considerations also? I'm so glad we will not hear those losers anymore preaching about that crappy ball player with the days to come

I can't imagine you are a popular poster on here mate

Decent trade. We had obviously given up on the Exum experiment. I suggested going after Clarkson numerous times a couple years back. The guy can flat out score.

Overall, this is primarily a salary dump though. Getting off of Exum's $9+ next season if he's not part of the plan is quite big. Also, if possible, I wouldnt be shocked if Clarkson wasn't traded at the deadline as part of a bigger trade package.

You know this trade was available?

And we should’ve done what so far as the point guard position goes? Are there fringe all-star point guards growing on trees we could have acquired if not Conley?

"Fringe" point guards with super star contracts are sure the hell not growing on trees and the Jazz still found a way to sign one.

Gawd damn it.

Archie apparently has a crystal ball and knew they made a mistake before the season started and can also see that Conley cant turn it around.

Jesus, some monday morning quarterbacking

Yeah, well, my crystal ball is a lot better than your friend in Sacramento that tells you things you take as universal truths like Ed Davis being one of the best big backups last year.

And of course, this trade wasn't available back then. You'll missing my point. The Conley trade was and we bit.

Gawd damn it.

Quin isn't a babysitter nor a nurse.
