Some on here don’t give him the credit he deserves. Just look at some of Ron Mexico’s comments. So disrespectful.Great article. It really bothers me how often people down-play his accomplishments. He was unbelievable for so many years, and to hear people say "well without Malone he would be nothing" is infuriating. Without Malone he would have been handing out assists to anyone else who would score, it was what he did. And the defensive end is always overlooked, where he also hold a near-unbreakable record. It is basically a foregone conclusion that no one will ever break the assist record, and the steals record is not far off of that. He doesn't get the respect he deserves, not even from the current crop of players. Look at the comments from CPee3. What an *******!

Let me first say that Stockton is the reason I became a Jazz fan, but thought this video was interesting. Could he not go left???
So thinking about this, Malone averaged 25 ppg his career. The average points per game for the league (not sure for the Jazz) over that time span eyeballs about 100 ppg (higher in 80-mid 90s then drops off). So if you assume Karl was 25% of the total offense, then go ahead and subtract out 25% of Stockton’s assists. That puts him at 11,855, which is good for second place on the all-time list, 236 behind Jason Kidd. And that presumes that absolutely nobody fills Karl’s scoring void and the Jazz average 25 ppg less than the rest of the league.Three things I’ve thought of:
1. How many assists did he have that didn’t go to Malone? I wonder if anyone’s tracked that. I gotta think the total number would still place him in or around the top 5 all-time in assists. 6th place is nearly 6,000 assists behind. That speaks volumes.
2. I guess Kidd, Jackson, Nash and Magic only played with scrubs.
3. The people who say he was only that good because he played with Malone are the same retards who say Malone wasn’t that great because he never won a title. ****ing hypocrites.
